Swarovski NL Pure 10x
Epic Optics Note: We have been using the NL Pure binoculars heavily since their release in 2020. The NL’s have superior glass and a great ergonomic feel. The best of the best!
The NL Pure series offers the latest in optic technology available from Swarovski. The NL was released in 2020 after years of development and testing.
The NL offers an ultra-wide field of view and long eye relief—all in a compact magnesium housing. The NL Pure also features extra-low dispersion (HD) glass elements and a range of proprietary optical coatings that, when combined with its other performance features, creates a binocular that delivers impressive image quality. Swarovski uses highly reflective roof prisms and fully multicoated fluorite-containing HD glass lenses to deliver superior image quality. A field-flattener lens system complements the glass and coatings to keep the edges of the view crisp and sharp. The resulting views are rich with detail, saturated with lifelike color and have exceptional contrast and resolution.
The NL Pure has been designed to fit perfectly into your hand. The new ergonomic shape guarantees relaxed viewing, even for longer periods. The housing is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be resistant to internal fogging and waterproof to a depth of 13 feet.
Vortex RZR UHD 10×42
Epic Optics Note: Great glass for the money and backed by the Vortex VIP Warranty, which is hard to beat!
The RZR UHD 10×42 utilizes the UHD Optical System from Vortex providing ultra high definition optical quality and a prescription for incredible image resolution that cuts chromatic aberation; providing exceptional color fidelity, edge-to-edge sharpness, and light transmission. The APO System gives you index-matched lenses with correct color across the entire visual spectrum.
Anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces provide maximum light transmission for peak clarity and the pinnacle of low-light performance. Coating on roof prism models enhances resolution and contrast.
The rubber armoured magnesium body provides protection from water and fog. O-ring seals prevent moisture, dust and debris from penetrating the binocular for reliable performance in all environments. Argon gas purging prevents internal fogging over a wide range of temperatures.
Vortex Viper HD 10×42
Epic Optics Note: The Viper HD is a great option at an entry level price. Quality glass for the money. Backed by the hard to beat Vortex VIP Warranty!
Viper HD binoculars give hunters, and shooters a premium option without the premium price tag. The HD optical system delivers stunning resolution, color fidelity and edge-to-edge clarity. These are one of the lightest, most compact, full-size binos on the market—a noteworthy attribute when gear consideration can be measured in grams.
The compact roof prisms are dielectric coated. Phase-corrected coatings limit internal interference, light loss, and diffraction while maximizing light transmission through the prism system. The larger objective lenses boost the binoculars’ light-gathering capabilities to draw in the available light and maintain bright images even when conditions are less than ideal, such as in low light periods of the day or under heavy cloud cover.
The optical tubes are O-ring sealed and argon filled to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging if the weather turns or they take an accidental spill in a stream or puddle. Protecting the optical components is a polycarbonate chassis that is lightweight and durable, as well as resistant to the expansion and contraction that metal suffers from, which can lead to fuzzy views over time.
Zeiss Conquest HD 10×42
Epic Optics Note: One of the best mid-tier 10x binos there is. Great quality for the price point.
The well-balanced Conquest® HD binoculars provide outstanding performance and an uncompromising ergonomic design, at an attractive price.
The Conquest HD 10×42 offers an impressive 115 meters field of view, with maximum overview at close quarters and optimum magnification at long range. At close range and longer distances the 10×42 ensures that you are well equipped for virtually any situation.
Multi-layer coating reduces light loss and glare due to reflection, creating a brighter, higher-contrast image and light transmission of more than 90%. High-density (HD) glass reduces the chromatic aberration that appears as unwanted “fringes” of color between dark and bright parts of an image.
Compact size, low weight and robust body construction guarantee readiness for use under all conditions. The comfortable focus system, with the large focusing wheel, ensures easy handling, optimum grip and precise focusing even with gloves.
Zeiss Terra ED 10×42
Epic Optics Note: The Zeiss Terra ED is hard to beat as an entry level bino. Great glass at an affordable price!
ZEISS Terra® ED binoculars are lightweight, reliable and easy to use. Their state-of-the-art, sleek design makes them comfortably compact. They incorporate famous SCHOTT ED glass, with multi-coated lenses that guarantee brilliant images down to the very last detail and they are protected with hydrophic lens coating. The Terra ED binoculars are waterproof and nitrogen-filled, making them rough and ready. Terra ED binoculars are constructed with a fiberglass frame. They serve as the perfect entry into the world of ZEISS.
A bright image, outstanding resolution of details and comfortable viewing characteristics, in combination with optimum ease of handling, perfectly describes the outstanding properties of the Terra ED 42.
Leica Ultravid HD-Plus 10×42
Epic Optics Note: Great glass and features that exceed the price you pay for these binoculars!
Building on the success of the original Ultravid HD, Leica’s 10×42 Ultravid HD-Plus binoculars add improved technologies and materials to create an optical device with bright and clear images across the entire field of view. The HD-Plus binoculars deliver enhanced contrast and true color fidelity, with virtually zero distortion, even in low-light conditions. Helping compensate for the visually distracting hand shake common with using 10x and greater optics, is a wide 63° apparent viewing angle.
SCHOTT HT glass increases light transmission, especially in the blue-violet light band, improves color fidelity, and enhances low-light performance. Scratch and abrasion resistant high durable coating (HDC) and hydrophobic AquaDura coating on the outer lenses protect surfaces and cause water and oil to bead off for easier cleaning and clearer vision. The roof prisms feature P40 phase correction and proprietary High Lux System (HLS) coatings. These coatings virtually eliminate chromatic aberration for enhanced color rendition and increased contrast.
Complementing the optical performance are uncompromising construction details. To reduce user fatigue during long glassing sessions, the chassis is made of a lightweight, yet durable, magnesium alloy with a titanium center hinge axle.
