How the Arizona Draw Works

Bonus points

Arizona runs two main application periods each year. Elk and antelope applications are due in early February with results in early March. Sheep, deer, and bison applications are due in early June with results in late June. All applications go through the Arizona Game and Fish portal, and results post to your portal account.

Arizona uses a bonus point system. You earn one point for each year you apply and do not draw, plus a permanent bonus point for completing either hunter education or the Ethically Hunting Arizona course, and a loyalty point for applying five years in a row. A share of each hunt's tags goes to the highest point holders first, and the rest are drawn at random, so every applicant has a chance every year.

Epic Outdoors members see draw odds and minimum points for every Arizona unit, updated every year, plus the research magazine and one on one help from our consultants. Membership is $150 per year, and the Epic Outdoors app is a free download with a 7 day full access trial.
