A little breathing room. Yeah. Yeah, it's kind of slowed down, but there's going to be a little resurgence here with some draw results, huh? Yeah. We're getting ready to launch Idaho.

Arizona's going to hit portals at some point soon. We have had guys call in and tell us their car's been hit. Mine wasn't. Brownson, how's your credit card looking? No, it's got plenty of money on there. Plenty of room to hit and stuff. Yeah. Lives are happy. Husbands are not so happy. Devin, you got any hits? No hits. Come on. Just no. No. You did buy a little optic for the Epic. I bought a wheelbarrow today at lunch. What do you mean? The only thing I. You bought the best spotter known to man, the little tiny 55. My credit? No. My credit card has a wheelbarrow charge. We're only talking about credit cards? Yeah. I was kind of talking about gear and fun things. We're all gearing up for the fall. Cash, Logan, have we been missing any money in Arizona? No, just other states, but not Arizona. Other states? Well, just up front tag fee states. Wyoming, sitting on some point.

We've got two more days. We've got some deer apps in there. I'm ready for some refunds. I'm ready for the refund there. Ash and I did a special antelope. I was like, oh. Makes you cough a little? Yeah, it does. But I mean, what's your daughter worth to you? Wow. He said that on a hot pot. Wow. Very deliberate. Hey, I pray we draw. You better help you draw now. Oh, she does too. She's no joke, man. Something to kill. She's out hiking around right now looking for sheds. Jeez. Hit me and said, Dad, send me onyx pens where I can hike for the day. It's supposed to be 96 outside today. Yeah, I hope she took water. Yeah, I hope so. I know she takes guns. I don't know about water. John, did you check your stuff for Arizona? I got nothing. Dang. Struck out. Sometimes, John, I feel like you need a financial manager. Turn over your passwords.

John could very well have a charge, but it just didn't look the right spot. I looked at lunch. I don't know why, but I thought this year, after 28 years, I forget. I just had a feeling about Arizona this year. What was the feeling? It's kind of like the feeling you had for Nevada. Yeah. You're like, man, I get so excited when Nevada comes out. I get excited, but I don't have the feeling I do in Arizona. And, you know, I've had some good friends. Well, you, one of them, and a couple other good friends and guides draw in the last six, eight years. Sheep tags. Sheep. So it's, like, close to home. So I figured, see, it's my turn. We did have a good client slash friend let us know that they got a charge. So that's good. Among a few others. It's pretty fun. Deer tags are fun, too. But, man. But. How about the drought? What about the fires on the kayak? Kayabab, things like that. Man.

Yeah, it ain't. Can we ever get out of fire season and raise the water level at Lake Powell and have good life again? No. It's not quick. It's like we live in a desert or something. Jeez. It would be interesting to see how far apart those Kayabab fires start. It's like they start at the same spot and burn across the east every time. Well, now this new one starts where the other one ended. Yeah. Like, right there. I mean, do you think it's deliberate? Well, they got those towers out there, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Somebody's out there with a magnifying glass getting it cranking.

All right. So, here we are. Let's have an update on the app. Who wants to go? Sure. We're just getting excited for June 30th. It's going to come out to the public. You're going to be able to download it June 30th. We're doing some videos on Instagram. At least by June 30th. It seems like you were maybe even getting a little more excited. No? No. It'll be public release June 30th. Okay. Okay. And, yeah. We're doing some videos on Instagram. Getting the... Did you take away all of the beta testers' rights? It's slowly tricky because we have to take them away to get ready for the public launch. Okay. So, just as that updates throughout, it'll trickle through and the beta testers will lose access. We did want to thank all the beta testers. They had some amazing insight. Really helpful to find those bugs. And we listened to a ton of comments and made a lot of changes because of what they said.

Had a guy reply specifically to the fact that... We listened. He was listened to. Mm-hmm. And the changes were made. Yeah. Yeah. So, we just... We can't thank those guys enough. They did a ton of work for us and helped us out a ton. So, thank you. Yeah. That's pretty awesome. Pretty fun. Pretty fun. So, yeah. There's nothing happening right now anyway. Turkey season's over. Wyatt, you had a social media for us for a minute. A little bit of fun. Yeah. It was peaceful and enjoyable. It wasn't enjoyable. Did you feel like you became a better man? It was. I didn't feel like I was missing as much as I thought I was. Yeah, you did. Yeah. When you got back on, you were like... Now, if you miss it from September 1st to October 1st... Yeah, a little bit different. There's a lot of stuff. So, there's a shed time where you want to see what's being picked up, which was nothing. Sheds, turkeys, and... Yeah, pretty slow shed season. And the turkeys, we kind of got tired of. And one-hander bears. The turkeys and the one-handers. The cubs. Yeah. You missed some cubs. Yeah. What else? Anything else? That's about it. Yeah, I don't know.

So, if you turned it on shed season, let's call it February 1 through April 1, you'd do well there. Then turn it back off. Then turn it back on August 1st. August 1st. Yeah. 10th, Nevada Archery Opener. Maybe. Yeah. Maybe. See what happens. See what happens. So, anyway, would you recommend social media fast for the whole world? I think it was good, yeah. I think I got a lot more time back in my day, to be honest. You had a glow about you. His work ethic was amazing. Actually, you need a little break doing what you do once in a while, so I don't know. Sometimes it's hard. It's nice to just get a little mental break, see what the world's doing for a minute, and then get back into work life. Yeah. Apps. Apps. So, all right. Spreading our wings. You've been working your way through the app a lot, it seems like. Yeah. What was your feel on it? Busy. This is a busy year, and a lot of people are interested in a lot of different hunts, so draw ads, I think, are going to get harder, as they always do. Yeah. So, kind of a general feel. All right. As evidenced by the fact that we're all tagless. Yeah, exactly. In places. I don't know that everybody's tagless. Well. Oh, really? You want to spend upon that? No, but I just think you should. You've got some things. I've got two draw tags. Pretty amazing. I drew the first one I put in for with Wyatt, which has been well documented. It's a year and a half after, or whatever, after we drew it that we get to go hunt. It feels like we're talking about something that I may not be alive for. Hey, February's sneaking up on us. It's been here before you know it. Yeah.

What are you guys going to do to prepare for that again? Get warm clothes. Yeah. Okay. That's what I'm going to do. What about? Who's taking a bow? I don't know. Wyatt keeps trying to talk me into it. I know they're built to shoot with a slingshot, whatever. They stand around waiting to charge you. They want to stand around waiting to charge you. Their defense mechanism is butt to butt to butt to butt. Yeah. Right? But Wyatt, he thinks we should take both. We could take both. Are you going to take a bow? I'm thinking hard about it. The only thing I can't figure out is the amount of clothing we're probably going to have to wear. It's going to be negative 20-something degrees. Yeah, exactly. But, I mean, I don't know. What if they – maybe crossbows are legal 100.

You don't have to worry about the string hitting your clothes. Even if they are, Jason.

Practice shooting your Hoyt with 17 layers. Jason, I'm hunting with the official Boone Crocker score. Yeah, but, I mean, those are legal – He knows nothing about muskox. Boone Crocker takes in everything killed by legal measures. Oh, I know. But, you know, maybe I want to go Pope and Young. If it was Pope and Young, it would be a little different. Yeah. So, all right. Well, that's pretty awesome. That and an elk. Okay, we're done. That's it. That's my two draw tags for the year so far. Now, I've got like five or six family sheep hunt. I mean, I'm doing a sheep hunt in Alaska, but then I've got like four other families sheep tags in Utah and Colorado. Aaron, it's no joke. He's got plans. I mean, geez. I've got on top of about 15 others. I did some math. It was a lot. There's a lot going on. Like 20. Yeah, there's a lot. Wow. So. It's going to be busy. Yeah, it'll be fun.

Anyway, so those are my draw tags, but I've got a bunch of family sheep tags and like four or five of them. There is a lot. Three different states. It's a lot. A bunch of clients. So, I'm going to be busy, busy. Kids. Two different kids with elk tags in other states. So, yeah. Deer tags in other states. So, yeah. I'm shooting for dad of the year. You have. The Bronson family has been pretty darn lucky. Tie. Tie. Beat the odds. Beat the draw odds on some of this stuff, too. It's pretty awesome. Daughter as well. Your daughter as well. Yeah. You are. I'm winning. You are going to get dad of the year award. You're set up for it. I'm set up. How you. Stuff's got to happen. Yeah. Stuff's got to die. How you make that all happen and with smiles and successes and all that. Yet to be seen. Yeah. That's right. Because, you know, things happen. It's laid out. Shoot. Shoot. What the crap.

It's all laid out. It's all laid out in front of me. For the taking. Taking kids is the hardest guiding a guy ever does. Guiding your own kids. Yeah. Especially if you screw up. Well. Yeah. And then you never get. You never let it down. Do you have an example, John? Yeah. Are you having a hard time living one down? Yeah. Every year. No. So, I went with my daughter. We have a system. Every time we get out of the truck, we, like, over communicate on where the bullets are. Every time we get out of the truck, dad gets first shot. She gets second shot. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. I'm like, you know, there's one in the chamber. It's loaded or whatever. I put it in. It's ready to go. Peterson's chamber. Safety's on. And then I say it out loud, right? There's one in the chamber. Safety's on. Or there's none in the chamber. Safety's still on. Blah, blah, blah. So, we're up on the mountain.

And deer comes out. Ew. And I, you know, get her behind the gun. I'm like, there's one in the chamber. The safety's on. So, I say it again. And then she takes the safety off. Click. Oh. And I'm like, there was not one in the chamber at that moment. Wah, wah. Oh. And then. But, John, it was safety first. I mean, it's not like you had a. That's better than the desk pop you had in New Mexico.

I think we've already talked about it on this podcast. It's a good time, though. It's my favorite. Every embarrassing moment. No. That one, just the gun went off when I put the safety. Yes. The gun was super sensitive. I took the safety off and it just fired. Yes. My buddy had that happen this last fall. Really? Yep. Brand new gun. Custom gun or a factory just out of the box style? Kind of an in-between. Like not a factory, but not a custom. Factory, but an altered trigger. Factory with the. With an altered trigger. With a file. Late night. The file with a headlamp. No. Brand new. Out of the box. Custom job. Gets lined up on a bull. Takes safety off. Wah-ga. Goes off. It sounds like a pure custom job. Basement. Basement trigger. Were there a pound, pound and a half trigger? It got fixed. It does make me nervous. That feels real nice.

I've had friends when the bolt, when they would close the bolt, it would go off. Yeah. Yeah. And it went off. And so then the next time they tried to aim that way and shoot that way. Imagine trying to shoot like. Oh. Impossible. That adds some serious sport to it. Squeeze the bolt. Yeah. Bop. You do whatever it takes. You got a defective weapons hunt. There you go. I know a guy at this table that has like a one pound trigger. Who? What is it? Do you remember? One in 1.3 ounces. Which one? One pound, three ounces. It was not that gun. This is a factory gun that went off when I. But it's just. All Peterson rifles should have 10 pound triggers. I've watched John shoot groups of the thousand like that with that gun. Yeah. It's a. Yeah. That was legit. It's deadly. You don't want to breathe too hard. Yeah. You don't want to breathe too hard. Well. What is everybody else excited for this year?

Wyatt. You had the hunting experience here in May. Oh. Yeah. Oh. Yeah. Alaska. Brown bear. We should have some buddies. A quick recap. It was just awesome. It was pretty cool. So. Didn't kind of know what to expect going into it. But. As you know. Alaska. Got up there. Of course. We had fairly decent weather the very first. Talking brown bear. First day. Yeah. That was a first for me in Alaska. Usually it's sit and wait. And. You know. Hurry. Hurry and go. As soon as the weather breaks. But this time it was actually pretty. But before you got there. It was a long stint of bad weather. Yes. Early May. Yes. A long stint of bad weather. And they said the winter lasted longer than it has most years in Alaska. And they told me a date. I can't remember. It's been a decade ago. Or not. Quite a time. Yeah. So. Anyways. Brown bear hunting scene. Pretty slow leading up to it. Even.

Even reports from the camp we were going into kind of seemed slow. So. Didn't really know what to expect. Got up there. Got flown in. And in the first three days we'd seen 15 plus bears and killed two. This is unbelievable. Within 300 yards of the tent. So. This is unbelievable. Wow. Yeah. Pretty. Pretty incredible. It was good to be up there. Had a couple of really close friends that actually had the tags. I was just kind of tagging along. So. You're the packer. Yeah. Packer. But you've been on the same type of hunts when it didn't go that way. Yes. Yes. So like when you're. You were due for one of these. You were kind of due for a 300 yarder. Yeah. Last time I went up there it was eight inches of rain a day. It was just unbelievable. A hard day. Yeah. Just insane every day. So. You guys got very familiar with the cabin. Yeah. Very familiar with the cabin.

This time we were in a wall tent. Yeah. Didn't have to spend as much time in there though. Pretty fun though. Yeah. It was pretty cool. Man. So any close calls or anything interesting you want to share about those kills or anything like that? No. It was just cool to see that amount of bears within such a close proximity of where you're hunting. Had one come 21 yards from camp with a bow. Yeah. Hunter decided to pass. Josh decided to pass on the bear. That's a cool video. So it's pretty cool to watch out. Even if it's a little bit smaller bear than you want. Like you got 21 yards. You kind of want to. Oh he was tempted. Yeah. Was he? Yeah. He was tempted. Now technically isn't this baiting? You're the bait.

Wyatt. You're not supposed to bait. Maybe last night's dinner was the bait or something. Yeah. We threw out a mountain house. Definitely smelled something. How about. A mountain house. We actually had. I ate food. Yeah. Real food. Wow. Wow. So that was pretty cool too. How about the one you shot. How old did they figure that one bear was? So they said between 24 and 27 years old on the second bore we killed. If there's a tooth left to cut. Yeah. They took a tooth off. So. It was kind of. I don't know how long it takes Alaska to get that back. But pretty cool. It's kind of like you don't want to give up a tooth on a bear because it's kind of cool to have a full mouth. I mean that sucker only had so many teeth. Yeah. All its canines were broke down to basically almost gum line. It was pretty dang wild. Yeah. So. I mean that seems like a long time. You guys that are biologists. Adam.

What's so the longest. Like the stuff that we typically hunt. What's the longest lifespan. Is that it? Oh there's like cow elk who live into the low 20s. But I mean they aren't really probably productive. Yeah. You know. As far as calving and stuff. But they can live a long time. But what's crazy is these are boar. Like males of all species don't live as long because they're just brutal on each other. You know sheep get cheap shotted by a ram and breaks their back leg or hip or whatever. Or they're just whatever. Yeah. They just you know get break a horn and then they get sinusitis in it or whatever. Deer. Elk. All of them. You know. Don't live as long as females. So that's an old. Yeah. It's an old animal. And a non. You know. They got to deal with winters. Of course they hibernate. But still it's just. It's a long time to. That guy was ready to tap out. Yeah. Probably. Pretty brutal.

Brutal conditions. That bear lived through fights. Yeah. It's like some of those rams that they live 10, 12, 13, 14 up there. It's like. Just surviving a winner. One winner feels like monumental. A lot of respect that goes along there. Yeah. Yep. So. Besides sturgeon and rockfish. I mean that's. Those suckers can live. Well I'm not. Alligators. Alligators. Yeah. Alligators. Yeah. 50, 75 years old. Yeah. With little puppy collars from 1973. They got Fido. Didn't we. Did we talk about that? Yeah. What's that? That story? The story. Well. Yeah. Those are second hand stories. I mean this wasn't in a game of the tire I shot. But just you get told stories. Yeah. That. That find collars in there from decades prior of a dog. Call the owner. Decades. Like 1970s. Call the owner. Like oh yeah. That thing was 35 years ago. Passed away in 69. Wow. Really? Fluffy. Whatever. Yeah. They'll live.

Old Fluffy. 60, 75 year old. Collar's been. Cycle of life. Fluffy helped that cater to live. Kind of cool. But anyway. But yeah. So. What else? What else? Obviously couldn't pass a collar. Yeah. That's a problem. I don't know. So anyway. That's awesome Wyatt. So it was just a great experience overall. Yeah. It was definitely cool and fun to experience. Yeah. Is there anything you guys are looking forward to? Maybe Devin will start with you. What are you looking forward to? I don't have a lot this year. A couple general deer tags. But I'm still looking forward to it. Yeah. I want to preface this though. Like there's.

The hunt isn't over yet. Like the hunt for tags and opportunities. Yeah. I'm going to draw Idaho this week. You know. Yeah. I'm going to draw an antelope tag. Idaho. A bunch of second draw. Leftover stuff. Oh yeah. By the time it all comes out. It morphs. Yeah. It's going to be wild. I'll guide a few too. I'll be in Nevada a bit. So yeah. I'm looking forward. It's going to be fun. You guys went and shot some barbers. You and Jason's boys. And you. Already been a good year. You got a little bit of early stuff. I forget about spring stuff sometimes when I've hunted coos or orcs year before last. And you last year. You kind of forget about them. Because it's kind of like. It's not that far. Not that. Musk ox. It's like.

Just forget about it. Because they're like so far away. And that's like. Not even this year. Not even this year. Yep. Pretty awesome. But. They're still. I have three or four states. John. What do you. What do you got that you're looking forward to? I got family tags. Girls got. Both have general tags. And my wife and I drew. Colorado. Colorado. So. Yeah. It'll be awesome. Same tag. Right? Yeah. Same tag. So. Getting away from a northern Colorado that you normally like to do. Yeah. And I don't know. You're glutton for punishment. John. You go on this hunt. How many deer do you normally see on that northern hunt that you'd like? Oh. It just depends on the year. Zero comes to mind. Yeah. Well. I thought it was like six. It was. The last time. The last. Yeah. Single digits. The last time I went up. Up on the northern border. It was six. Wow. Yeah. And I. You know. But you got.

But you got like ten people unstuck. Oh yeah. It was constantly getting people unstuck. Power wagon. Digging myself out. You could have made a Dodge commercial up there for power wagon. And then you add the landscaping you're doing with the same power wagon. This truck's amazing. This truck is amazing. Well Jason's teeing it up because where did you get that truck from? I bought that truck from Jason. Best truck he's ever. Logan. Where'd you get your truck from? I've got a truck from Jason. Yeah. Where'd you get your boat? I got a boat from Jason. Yeah. That's right. I got a. The family has a few trucks from Jason. And that is attributed to a lot of happiness. It is. Comes down to Jason's one heck of a salesman. Hey. I lose money. I lose money to Adam. I don't like listing stuff on Marketplace. Do you? No. Adam and I lose money at every sale. I have kids that do stuff like that for me.

I'll throw something out and Logan's like oh boy I'm going to buy something else because it'll be half rate. I mean you know. When you're sick of looking at something I want it gone. Yeah. I'll say when Jason decides to sell it's getting sold. Except for Jana's truck. Every time I get rid of Jana's truck it's a premium. Yeah. That's a pavement princess right there. All right. So John. How is the landscaping going? Oh geez. What? I didn't know you were. John you're like a jack of all. Father of the year. You make us all look bad. I mean John rebuilds camp trailers for his kids. He puts new furnaces in the camp trailers himself. Yeah. From a 1943 camp trailer. And finds an OG. Yeah. From a Bob Vila handbook and a YouTube video. And the Hanes. The old Hanes automotive mechanic. Yeah. Yeah. John you've done auto body work. Right? Yes I have. You've re-put new suspensions under vehicles.

How many engines? Engines. Engines. Trannies. Engines. I get like follow up calls from engine world all the time. How do you learn how to do all these things? Hi YouTube. Yeah. Yeah. Learn anything. Yeah. Do anything you want Jason. I guess. I don't know. What about all that? No. I was just going to see if anybody else. If you have defects. Or that other people say. You know. Their. Faults. Personality faults. Right? Okay. What. That you have. That you know. Maybe you know you have. I have one. What is it? And I got mercilessly teased this weekend. Oh. On the yard. Okay. Your family. You have a defect is what you're saying. Yeah. What do they label it as? So. I'm building a rock wall. Right? And. I don't know. Okay. I don't know. So in. In my. In my yard. I thought you were simply putting in grass. No. I'm building a rock wall. Okay. Have you ever built a rock wall before? No. So.

This is your final resting place. Yeah. You're going to practice on your own final resting place. I'm practicing on my own thing. But. You know. Okay. So. I need. You know. I need a. A cement mixer. Because I'm going to use cement. And I'm going to do mortar. And everything. Oh. This is not just a rock wall. This is mortar. Brick mortar. You're doing some masonry stuff. Masonry. Yes. Yes. Okay. That's not a rock wall. Yeah. That's. This. This is going to last. This takes. Forever. Talent. For eternity. Yeah. Yeah. Did you get the drainage right? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I got it. I mean. I've got hundreds of hours into YouTube on rock walls. Squeeze me? Hundreds of hours? No. Not really. But a lot. A lot of hours. So this defect. So. I need. I need a cement mixer. Right. And I'm a little bit cheap. So I'm like. Okay. What's the best one I can get for the cheapest price?

So I go to my favorite store. Harbor Freight. I would think you'd rent them. They rent those. Yeah. I know. Just right down the street. But I've got. By the day. And you got to do it all in one day. $50 a day to rent. That means you're going to get the job done in a timely fashion. Yeah. But I have a lot of. I have a lot of. You've got a huge yard. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So I figured. A couple few weeks. Yeah. There's one at Harbor Freight for $270. And it's old school. Yeah. You just buy your own for $270. And I'm like. I could rent one. It's got a motor and everything? It's got a motor and everything. Yeah. You can't buy a gun for $270. Like you'd buy a cement mixer. Yeah. And it's. But it's like the old school metal. You can't even get. It's going to last for a while. You can't even get a hydraulic jack. Yeah. Exactly. Well maybe you buy it. What do we get our hydraulic jack?

Do you have to hand spin it? No. You plug it in. It's got a motor. Three something probably. Yeah. There you go. More than $279. Okay. All right. Well. All right. So $279 cement mixer. Harbor Freight. You buy. And you get little paper. You go up to the front. And you check out. And the store manager goes. Hey. I've got this exact model. But the box was damaged. Nothing's wrong with it. I'll give you $100 off. So $179? Yeah. Perfect. I'm like. Heck yeah. Sign me up. Okay. He's like. Well come look at it. You know. Blah blah blah. It looks great. Right. They've had this for 10 years. They've been waiting for a guy. To bring this piece of paper. We're waiting for. John Peterson. So I take it home. My wife. Just like. Rolls her eyes. And she's like. I can't believe you did this. You're going to be. Forever. Getting this thing to run. But. I'm like no. But really. It's the box. It's the box.

Right. Yeah. Okay. Well I get into it. It's not just the box. Really? Yeah. The bell. There's two bells. Like one on top. One on the bottom. And they're bent a little bit. Oh it took a forklift through the box. Probably. Probably. And they're bent enough. That it's. I could probably fix it. Right. So now you're looking on fixing. Yes. Submit mixers on YouTube. And then. It's missing the V belt. And some bolts. So. This thing's unusable. Two more trips into town. You know. And then I go to Ace. Are they treating you right? Or is this. No. You're flat out. Remember when I brought you all the numbers of all these people complaining? I can't ever hunt my own state. You go look at numbers. Why don't you explain that? Explain that a little bit more. If you ever complain that your youth can't hunt in Utah, you are not doing your job. They're not. A youth that's 14 can pick up a bow and go hunt deer in Utah every single year. Or if they're on a leftover tag. Or if you put your three or four or five choices. Gosh, I don't remember how many you can put on a Utah general. You can put five. They can draw a tag every single year. You can get one every. Yeah, you might have to drive a little bit. You're not going to hunt your backyard. There's muzzleloader. There's a couple things.

Or even rifle. I should have brought the numbers. But there is way more tags than you would really think. And there's legit general tags that are good tags. They're just not a rifle tag. So are you altering? And not on your back porch. Are you altering your driver's license and your age to get one of these tags? How are we getting one of these tags? No, even as an adult, I foresee that I can hunt this same tag for multiple, multiple years. All right. This could be the start of something. A long, prosperous hunting career. As long as I'm not dedicated. Yeah. Yeah. I tell you, break that streak next year when you're in. Yeah, when I got looking at numbers, I was like, I just came to, I'm not in a realization. I just came to you guys. I was like, I'm so sick of people complaining about it. I can't. We need more tags. It's just, no. No. Geez, gosh. Tell us how you really feel.

I'm telling the lack of big deer. Tell me to buzz off. No, it's not that. It's just, there are tags you can hunt. Oh, yes. It's this whole silent majority thing. So you're going to get one of those. You got Wyoming or Idaho. You're getting one or two of those. Expound the silent majority. Go ahead. I want to hear what you really have to say. My opinion on silent majority would absolutely be like people like my dad. They're just the guys that they hunt when they get a tag or whatever. They don't care to really hunt the general. They complain about not getting a tag, but then they forgot they never applied. Yeah. They never applied or whatever. They didn't even care enough to apply. But my dad, like it's guys like my dad that he wants, if he's going to hunt, and he would hunt often if there was big deer to hunt, but he doesn't care to hunt the generals because there's so many tags.

There's so many this, so many that. So he's just decided that if I'm going to hunt, I'm going to hunt some quality when I get it. Which is never. Yeah. But it's by choice. You never hear from those people. But it's by choice. It's those kind of people you never hear from. The silent majority, there's no silent majority other than guys that want to hunt big deer and they've just given up. The silent majority actually might want to not hunt regularly. Exactly. And wait for big deer. Exactly. Whereas Game and Fish says the silent majority actually wants more opportunity. They want more tags and more opportunity. There's plenty of tags. So how does the Game and Fish know what the silent majority wants? They don't. Yeah. They don't. There's way too many tags to have a silent majority on a lack of tags. I love it, guys. Go look at the list. It's there for everyone to see. Go look at the list.

It'll piss you off.

But yeah, I will have a useful tag. What do we got going on in your department over there? Some radicalization. A little too much time on their hands. We need to get up busier. She became a mother in the last 18 months. Well, she doesn't know how she feels about shooting a female. Yeah. Dropping a bomb on a mom. That's what I'm talking about. She straight up said that. Moms don't like that. She's like, I don't know how I feel about that. Mom bombing is not all of them. I'm like, well, you have like seven points. Granted, a pregnant mom. On some of them. There's something about it. It's not. Women don't like it. Go ahead, man. Probably a waste of 70 bucks. Yeah. Whatever. Never know. One year, though, you're going to be out of meat. Unless we get real hungry. She's going to get mad at you and say, you haven't had an elk tag in three years, Devin. I'm shooting a cow. That's going to happen. Or just go ahead, shoot a doe antelope. That's right. That's right. Make real. That's right. Watch her for 14 hours. Make sure she's alone. Right? Right?

14 hours to make sure she's alone. No. No, that's what it might take. And if she is alone, a big old. No matter what, we're quartering it. Big old dry. 12-year-old wench. Grass-eating. Sucker. You know? Blowing it up from a hay patch. Let her have it. Truth is, Brad doesn't have enough points to dry anything anyway. I mean, it's not. Once I went in and looked at it, I was kind of surprised. Yeah. She ain't even close. Yeah.

Anyways. Cash has got a few words about that. Plenty of opportunity. I'm good. There's a couple of my buddies who have a group chat in there. And I'm very verbal on some of that stuff. And they always tease me. Because they know it's true. And it's fun. It's fun to tease. There is a lot of hunting opportunities. I couldn't believe it. There really is. Upland game. Waterfowl. All the things. If you enjoy hunting in general. My kids hunted all the time. Yeah. All the time. Without me. Just out and about. And I'm like, geez. Ashley's doing it today. Yeah. Without you. I mean, kind of. She is. I haven't heard from Logan. Logan. Well, I was just thinking about. I've been hanging out with Jason's family a little more lately. And they just let him have it. And it's hilarious. He came home one night. And she. It gets old being me. Yeah. I feel bad. I honestly. I mean, I'm serious.

The first few weeks, I was like. Man. Have some respect for your elders. Well, I was like. This is funny. Have some respect for a guy that pays some bills around here. Yeah. Now I try to defend him. One night, he came home. And he didn't want to go do trail cameras. He just wanted to sit on the couch for a minute. I wanted to sit on. Do you know how long I sit on a couch? Call it. Call it. 30 seconds. 10 minutes. Max. From the sound of it. Okay. Go ahead. And Ashley's coming in. And get up. We got to go hang trail cameras. And he's like. No. I just want to sit. Because it was right after you'd come home. From Texas. No. I think that one I came home from. Havasupai. Havasupai. Oh, yeah. Havasupai. The Grand Canyon. That's 12 miles in and out. Beachway. You know what I mean? The next day. And she's. Like four days. Snapping her figure. It was like a four day grind. And it was a grind.

It was hot. It was awesome. The most amazing experience ever. But I was literally. It was that minute I got home. And she goes. He just wanted to sit on the couch all night tonight. I think he's getting old. Yeah. You know what else she said? Brutal. She said worse than that. And she goes. No wonder you don't kill any big deer anymore. Oh. I mean. Cut the heart out of her. This is the same. This is the same girl you just put in. This is my daughter. That I follow. Wyoming antelope. She's got points everywhere. And you hope to hunt antelope with this year. Yeah. That you're treating like a queen. And I was like. Ashley. When was the last time? No. I didn't go there. I didn't go there. But I'm thinking. Back off. There's no more big deer. Leave me alone. Back off. And then they're telling me about the first day he tries to wear shorts to the office.

And they're giving him flack as he's walking out the door about his shorts. She hates guys with shorts. Oh my gosh. All guys. Really? Doesn't matter. She thinks no guy should wear a pair of shorts. Yeah. Wow. I've got cute shorts. How come girls, women can't? Guys can't. She doesn't like to see hairy legs? I don't know if she likes girls wearing shorts either. I don't know. Well ask her. Next time you see her ask her. Hateful. Hateful.

The only tag I have in my pocket right now. But I got some family with tags in Colorado. So I'll be playing the extra opportunities hard. And if not, we'll go out with them anyway. Have a good time. Cash's Colorado elk tag in two years ago. That's also been well documented. But remember, the Marshall family, they throw up a lot.

It comes by it genetically. You and I both might have some stories then. I remember my dad told me a story. You hiked him up some mountain so hard that he threw up halfway there. And you just left him in the dust. I've told the story. It's probably on podcast number 123 or so. Way back. Yeah. We were hiking up the top of mountain home, but through the bush up through the right up the face. Yeah. Right. You know what I mean? Normally, you can go around on top and then hike across. But anyway. And he ended up. Well, he ended up throwing up. And then there was a fox that wouldn't leave us alone because he smelled like throw up. Yeah.

It was right in his head all over us. Sick eating juniper berries. I'm like. Finally, he was like, I'm done. I'm tapping out. And I'm like, good luck to you. I'm like. He's like. He just left me there with the fox. The fox. Yeah. Anyway. Anyway. All right. Cool. Well, things are looking good. I've got. I know my family's drawn a couple of tags there in Colorado. I'll be definitely hitting Colorado hard. I can't leave it alone. Can anybody here leave Colorado alone? You shouldn't either. It's tougher than it ever has been to kill big, big deer. But it's hard to leave alone. Yeah. Genetics are too good. And I don't know. The dates. There's something. Whatever schedule you got left to fill, there's something. Archery, muzzle, one, two, three, four, rifle hunts. You sprinkle in other hunts, Utah, maybe Nevada, or say Wyoming, things like that. Pretty soon you've got a full schedule. Yeah.

You know. Between us all and everything that's going on. So super exciting. We'll see what comes of it all in these next few weeks. Next week will be it, right? This week. By the end of this week will be it, pretty much. Yeah. I mean, Idaho. We should know Idaho, Wyoming. And, I mean, Washington. I don't need to mention that. Pretty awesome, Bronson. We're right on the cusp of a final drive. Yeah. Our membership drive. Final week, right now. We are. Yeah. Deadline's, what, 11-59 on June 22nd. That's next, what? Is that Monday or Tuesday next week? One or the other. It's Monday. It's actually Monday. Anyway, so we've got eight hunts there to give away, plus a gear package. Something for everybody. Whatever species you're after, wanting, craving, ought not, there's some hunts. A lot of them for this fall or winter. Yeah.

Some for this winter, you know, December, January, or even next year in the case of a doll sheep hunt. So even if your schedule's somewhat full this year, there's a couple of hunts in there that might be appealing for you. And if your hunt is, or schedule's not full, there's plenty of hunts that, I mean, some of these combo hunts are ridiculous. The BC combo hunt, Alaska grizzly caribou combo hunt, you know, coos deer, mule deer, Mexico combo hunt. I mean, geez. Some of those are no joke. Yakima elk, Yukon doll sheep, Colorado third season mule deer, Alberta whitetail. I mean, I want to go on every single one of those hunts. And we joke about this all the time, but it's really true. Part of it, too, is the opportunity of hunting some of these things when our stuff, we're sitting in a drought down here.

Sometimes I feel like these are good times to kill things like antelope, goats, sheep, moose, odd things. If there's a species out there that you wanted to go do and you normally hunt mule deer or elk or whatever, and we're in this drought span here of time for, it feels like the last six plus years. I mean, it's probably been 16 years, really. Yeah, you have a couple good ones in there, but three or four or five in between that are pretty tough. Yeah, never hurts to try. Mexico should be good. The forecast is pretty legit down there. Monsoon's starting to crack early, and they're saying it's going to be a good one. Yeah, and then Canada's always a good bet, and then some of these different species, just awesome. There's a lot of opportunities out there. Man, it's hard. Like, you know, we get a little bit of a rainstorm. Wyatt, you've got to redo your pavers.

Like, that to me means chia pet. You know, we have one little rainstorm, and we're excited about it. I would say we got a lot, though. I mean, the wheelbarrow that I've had, like, out next to my wall, it had probably four inches in it. I mean, it collects a little bit from around, but still, even if you average that, it's two inches. It did. There was bright, white sun out there. Yeah, it dried out like 20 miles away. 30 minutes, it was bone dry again. The dirt. I don't know. I drove home that day, and I couldn't even have told you if it rained or not. What? It's true. It did. It dried out fast. The ground sucked it up. It was humid. Golf course has had standing water for three days since that happened. Golf course gets lots of water. They water on top of it, but I'm telling you, it got soft. They didn't turn off their sprinklers or things.

You didn't notice because your yard is finished, and you don't see the erosion immediately. John's just trying to keep it together. John's trying to keep ground cover, drain ditch, everything in place. We're good. What I do like is that intentionally, we were thinking about 20, 26 hunts, and it's kind of fun to win something that you can go on right now. Yeah. It's kind of fun to be like, man, a couple months or a month or two months or three months, and most all of these hunts you're going to be able to do. Some of them you do want to be physically prepared, but generally speaking, you're going to be able to make it through these hunts. I'm the toughest one, probably the sheep hunt, and it's not until next year anyway, so you're all good. Yeah. There's a couple of those in the Mexico hunt during the winter. Yep. You can put off, and nothing really goes on.

Seven PCs. Sight it in. And we'll pay for the ammo to get it sighted in. It'll be shooting. We'll give you the ammo we used. In China to hunt it. Meaning the... We're going to wait. It's basically a $500, $600, $700 value. Yeah.

Yeah. There's stuff daily. Yeah. I mean. Across the board. Mountain goat. Bears. Moose. I mean. Plenty out there. There's a lot out there. Especially on an interesting year like this. Yeah. It's not a terrible economic year, but it does feel there's some guys backing out of things or whatever. Just a little bit more reserved in what they're doing. And it's causing some openings to come available. Yeah. I mean. Across the board. It's also that time of year, Devin. We don't really create a hot file list too early in the year because everybody's free January 1st. Right. But it is getting that time of year now in June that especially with some of the Canadian hunts starting to open up here soon and also, you know, lower 48 stuff. But true cancellations or things like that might be starting to come available.
