00:00:00:21 –> 00:00:04:27
Nevada is gonna post results tonight. It’s gonna be midnight Madness, but

00:00:04:27 –> 00:00:07:23
The number of tags in each unit was allocated properly.

00:00:08:16 –> 00:00:12:02
Sage Desert type. You know, a lot of the country we end up hunting. Don’t leave your

00:00:12:02 –> 00:00:14:11
Brain at home. Anything to do with Western Big Games.

00:00:17:22 –> 00:00:18:06
Welcome

00:00:18:06 –> 00:00:21:10
To the Epic Outdoors Podcast, powered by Under Armour.

00:00:22:07 –> 00:00:27:12
All right, let’s get started. Hey everybody. Jason Carter, Adam Bronson, and the boys. Introduce yourselves.

00:00:28:01 –> 00:00:28:26
Wyatt, John,

00:00:29:10 –> 00:00:29:21
Devin.

00:00:30:14 –> 00:00:30:24
We’re

00:00:30:24 –> 00:00:30:28
Here.

00:00:31:08 –> 00:00:38:21
Devin. Chris. Chris. Chris is at the keyboard. Who knows what he is doing over there? What are you doing over there, Chris? Same

00:00:38:21 –> 00:00:39:27
Thing you’re doing over there. Oh,

00:00:40:25 –> 00:00:58:14
Podcast. Good to know. Good to know. All right, well, we’d like to thank Under Armour sponsoring this podcast as we get cranking. We just wanted to throw one out today. Today’s kind of a special day. Bronson, why don’t you tell us what might happen at midnight?

00:00:59:07 –> 00:01:04:25
Well, Pacific time, yes. One o’clock Mountain. What is that? I

00:01:04:25 –> 00:01:06:25
Don’t know. O’clock central, three

00:01:06:25 –> 00:01:14:05
O’clock eastern. I don’t know. Is that right? Yeah, yeah. Okay. Yeah. Nevada’s gonna crush email results. So

00:01:14:10 –> 00:01:16:21
Nevada’s gonna post results tonight a couple

00:01:16:21 –> 00:01:58:29
Days earlier. It’s kind of been a tradition for a lot of years. I’ve been bear hunting a lot of years on the San Juan when Nevada comes out, you know, 3 34 in the afternoon and you gotta be on a, I plan my glassing point that afternoon, evening in a strategic location just to keep some hope and excitement alive. And it’d get crushed fast. And I’d bail off into the canyon just ’cause I was sick of sick that I waited that long. But today they’re gonna come out a couple days earlier this year. So yeah, gonna be some lucky people. Tomorrow this time we’ll be talking to people that are booking hunts, planning hunts, buying optics, buying trail cams for the two months that they can use ’em in Nevada

00:02:01:17 –> 00:02:03:09
Of epic proportions. That’s right.

00:02:03:19 –> 00:02:04:28
All that, you know, so

00:02:05:29 –> 00:02:30:03
That is, that’s a good point you bring up as far as if you do need some gear, think about us. We’ve got it stacked in the back. Happy to sell you some new optics with great prices. So anyway, lots of exciting times right now. We’ve had some draw results come out. Wyatt and Devin. We, we decided to take one day off and you guys got crushed. What happened last Friday?

00:02:30:10 –> 00:02:30:18
Yeah.

00:02:30:19 –> 00:02:35:04
So Utah ended up posting their draw results as long as well as Idaho. So

00:02:35:14 –> 00:02:37:22
On Friday’s, a lot of phone calls decided there’s

00:02:37:22 –> 00:02:44:05
Gonna Adam’s in the hills. I’m in the hills. So two different places, two different states. And these Poor Fells Yeah, got

00:02:44:05 –> 00:02:49:06
Crushed. Was unpredictable. And we kinda left them holding the bag. Fell a little bad. I

00:02:49:06 –> 00:02:50:00
Think it was good for ’em.

00:02:50:11 –> 00:03:05:14
Yo, not that they’re not capable, it’s just that you never, you know, we thought it was gonna be a fairly benign Friday and we’ll just sneak out for maybe a three day weekend in the hills. And by 10 o’clock it was, it was widely apparent that this was, this was gonna be busy day before

00:03:07:05 –> 00:03:13:05
By 10 o’clock. They didn’t even have time to get half a text out. I’d get like half a word and a couple other periods

00:03:13:08 –> 00:03:16:06
We’re alive. Yes, we’re fine. Gotta go. Some bottle

00:03:16:11 –> 00:03:16:25
Replies.

00:03:17:14 –> 00:03:17:23
Uber.

00:03:17:27 –> 00:03:19:19
Uber Eats was bringing them food.

00:03:20:17 –> 00:03:21:18
Who paid for that anyway?

00:03:24:02 –> 00:03:30:04
What was it? Like three o’clock? I, I walk over to Wyatt, open the window. I’m like, we should probably eat eventually. It was, it was a good day.

00:03:30:04 –> 00:03:30:18
Wow. It

00:03:30:19 –> 00:04:05:22
Was pretty funny. ’cause you guys have, so Adam and I sit between you two and you two are in theory in different basic building. I don’t call it buildings, but portions of the office. But you can see each other through the windows. I told Jana, she’s like, what are you thinking about? I said, honestly, I’m thinking, okay, nobody’s in the office except for Wyatt and Devin and the gals. And I can just picture Wyatt taking his computer, setting up at my desk, putting his feet up on my desk. So he’s close to Devin and they can just yak back and forth on who’s drawing what. And outfitters and I, and I said, and I kind, you know, hope they do it. Just don’t tell me about it.

00:04:05:22 –> 00:04:06:12
But I don’t want to know,

00:04:07:08 –> 00:04:10:23
I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna picture why it’s muddy feet up on my desk, come back

00:04:10:23 –> 00:04:14:11
Monday and be like, my chair’s adjusted. Something. Something happened.

00:04:15:07 –> 00:04:26:16
Yeah. No, there was none of that. Just a lot of yelling through the windows on what was going on. Pretty awesome to hear. Yeah. Did you, did you examine your earpiece and headset closer that day? Jason? Do you think it might have got used by somebody?

00:04:26:16 –> 00:04:48:24
Well, I think, oh, there was, there was a few skin flakes from somebody’s inner ear on my, on my headset. Kind of grossed me out for a minute. Nasty. Oh, I had to covid clean that thing. Let’s, let’s call Nevada. What I wanna do is, I wanna know for a fact, I’m not screwing around. I want to know from Jack himself that these results are coming out because I’m not gonna lay awake. Think about it.

00:04:49:17 –> 00:04:49:25
When

00:04:49:25 –> 00:04:53:17
Was the last time you’ve ever spent till midnight up, let’s call it one in the morning

00:04:53:25 –> 00:04:57:29
Mountain. It’s gonna be one. ’cause it’s specific. That’s right. Wind 1:00 AM It’s probably been a while since 1:00 AM Junior

00:04:58:01 –> 00:04:58:10
Prom.

00:05:02:07 –> 00:05:04:13
I’m sure it’s been lots more recent than that.

00:05:04:13 –> 00:05:06:13
You might have to drink a Mountain Dew tonight. Dude.

00:05:07:24 –> 00:05:08:17
I’ll buy you one.

00:05:10:07 –> 00:05:15:16
He’s on the end gate of the wagon and he’s about to fall off. Are we gonna be here tonight?

00:05:16:17 –> 00:05:20:10
I don’t know you guys, maybe Adam. I don’t, I guess

00:05:20:10 –> 00:05:24:18
By the end of this podcast we better make some kind of proclamation to the world.

00:05:24:25 –> 00:05:27:17
6:00 AM will be here, Bronson, how about that? Should we do that?

00:05:27:21 –> 00:05:38:02
We were here earlier than that last year. Were we? Yeah. Yeah, because our phone kept buzzing at two, three, four and like, all right, we’re done. People are hitting me with outfitter info. Yeah.

00:05:38:02 –> 00:05:41:26
And I hope they do. Yeah. Love to hear it. I want, let’s call for those

00:05:41:26 –> 00:05:43:23
Who don’t end the podcast, Jack

00:05:43:29 –> 00:06:11:18
Robs deputy director Nevada in Dow, Nevada Department of Wildlife. Super good, dude. Let’s give him a holler. This is Jack. Hey, we’re tired of waiting for draw results. When are they coming out? Soon? Soon. You’ve got that diplomatic hat on right now. That bureaucratic hat. Take it off. Tell us the truth. Where are we at? The,

00:06:11:26 –> 00:06:24:00
The, the number of text I get with that exact question is overwhelming. And that, that’s my standard answer soon. I, I can tell you beyond the shout of a doubt, they’re gonna be out at midnight,

00:06:24:19 –> 00:06:27:22
Midnight Pacific time or Mountain Time Midnight. So we want it to be Mountain time.

00:06:28:16 –> 00:06:34:25
I know you want it to be mountain time, but it’s gonna be midnight Pacific time. We’re gonna hit that button and, and let it go. And

00:06:35:00 –> 00:06:38:22
They’re gonna start trickling out crushing inboxes. Well, there you heard

00:06:38:22 –> 00:07:32:26
It. It’s gonna crush it. It’s, it’s about a two hour process from start to end. So, you know, there may be a little suspense to it, but we’re, we’re going to advertise it. Hey, it’s out. And instead of having people hit refresh a hundred times for eight hours, we’re gonna say, Hey, this is what’s going to happen. All right. And you know, the, the first year we did a midnight deal, it was the first year we went with Alai. And it, it surprised everybody. You don’t get an opportunity to surprise 70,000 people very often. But we pulled it off that year. But the main reason we did that was we knew it was gonna take two hours to load inboxes. And I didn’t wanna have the first guy get his results and have 69,000 calls. Where’s mine that my buddy got his. So now we’re gonna, we’re gonna talk about that and tell people, Hey, it’s a two hour process, be patient, but at least give ’em a window when that two hours are gonna be.

00:07:33:05 –> 00:07:42:24
Well, so can they go into their account and see the results at midnight Pacific time? Or is it just between midnight and 2:00 AM They should get an email between

00:07:43:02 –> 00:07:50:15
Midnight and 2:00 AM they should be getting an email, but about the same time they get their email and load into their account and hit their credit card. It’s all

00:07:51:04 –> 00:07:52:29
Kind of together, all the same part.

00:07:52:29 –> 00:08:22:26
It’s all ki kind of together. It, it’s a algorithm that takes a while to run and, and it’s not like everybody’s results just flash on at, at want, you know, 12 o’clock. It, it’ll take some time to load in, but be patient, it’ll get there. We’re looking forward to it. Validation process has gone really well. Draw went really well. I don’t know if you guys watched it all past couple years. We’ve YouTubed to draw out

00:08:23:06 –> 00:08:34:20
What’s there to watch, what’s watch exciting you guys on the edge of my seat when I watched when you guys, when you guys left the room last year, I was like, okay, that’s, I guess that’s it. I mean, come on. It,

00:08:35:06 –> 00:09:13:17
It, no, I’m serious here. It, it went totally different this year. We had 350 people watching at one time and through YouTube they were able to a ask questions and we were doing live question and answer for 350 people about how the draw process works. Geez. The sequence just questions top to bottom. And Zach from mie, he, he answered them and just did a great job. And it was very informative. And, and we’ve got a lot of positive feedback on that. So maybe next year you guys will tune in and you can find some things I didn’t know about our drop. Yeah,

00:09:13:17 –> 00:09:13:29
Well no,

00:09:14:10 –> 00:09:17:13
I remember watching a computer and we’re

00:09:17:13 –> 00:09:18:10
Not gonna learn anything new.

00:09:18:20 –> 00:09:25:17
Go ahead. And when we first year we watched the computer and we’re like, wow, that’s not what I was expecting. I was gonna see Carter, where are we going to lunch?

00:09:25:27 –> 00:09:34:12
Pretty much that first impression was the last impression. And I was like, I’m not watching it again. I saw what happened. The computer didn’t do anything. You guys walked outta the room.

00:09:34:12 –> 00:09:36:14
There was no smoke mirrors, there was nothing.

00:09:37:16 –> 00:09:43:25
I assumed it was done right and correct. I have no idea just looking at a computer running the algorithm. So anyway,

00:09:43:25 –> 00:10:10:06
Yeah, we, we, we were, we’ve been challenged on a transparency that, and boy, I can tell you yesterday our transparency was way up. Oh good. Like I said, 350 people watching it and just the, the deep high level questions down to the questions that you and I know off the top of our head. But they’re, they’re being answered and answered in real time. It was fantastic. And, and we’re, we’re looking to expand that into the future also.

00:10:10:15 –> 00:10:11:22
Well give Zach a raise.

00:10:12:06 –> 00:10:25:23
That’s, I, you know, I’m glad you said that because I’m gonna send that to his bosses because I, I’ve been beating him up at Cal Kamai for a long time that that guy takes good care of us. And I said, Hey, we need to take better care of Zach,

00:10:26:26 –> 00:10:31:18
Especially if we get some good positive draw results. We’re gonna give Zach some positive feedback. Yeah. So

00:10:31:24 –> 00:10:40:05
About tomorrow, at about between midnight and 2:00 AM you’ll get some feed more feedback, good or bad. I don’t know. We’re gonna wait and find out. We’ll be getting,

00:10:40:20 –> 00:11:04:28
We’ll be getting a lot of feedback. There will be a lot of disappointment, a lot of excitement. But as we spoke about before, it’s, it’s not just the tags you draw, it’s the tags your family draws. It’s tags your friends draw. Yeah. Nevada is, hunting is a team sport because you’re not gonna draw a tag every year and we know that. But get out with your friends and then when you do draw that tag, you know that your friends are there to support you and you, you’ve got a great experience coming up.

00:11:05:02 –> 00:11:10:18
That’s right. Well, Jack, do you wanna go ahead and tell everybody what your cell phone number is so they can share their results with you

00:11:11:02 –> 00:11:12:26
2:00 AM Yeah, well, not not, not a problem.

00:11:16:13 –> 00:11:18:24
Alright folks. You heard it here. My, my wife.

00:11:19:02 –> 00:11:24:02
If hotel rooms are open in Reno tonight, she she would probably go get one because it’s not gonna

00:11:26:18 –> 00:11:26:26
Well,

00:11:27:09 –> 00:11:33:28
Well we appreciate your time and we look forward to it. You guys are out a little bit early and nobody’s ever gonna complain about that.

00:11:34:11 –> 00:11:36:28
No. Midnight madness in Nevada. We’re,

00:11:37:12 –> 00:11:52:29
We’re going to push to keep getting them out in, in a timely manner. And like I said, we’ve got a great team and Calais a great partner, but our validation’s going good. We’re comfortable. A few more things to check, but we’re ready to roll. What do,

00:11:53:02 –> 00:11:58:11
Do you check? What are you checking? Like felons getting tags? What do you, what do you deadbeat dads, what do you got?

00:11:59:23 –> 00:12:09:04
No, it’s more, make sure the business rules applied. Right. Make sure everybody’s bonus points were applied, right. That the number of tags in each unit was allocated properly.

00:12:11:14 –> 00:12:15:05
Just a few things. Make sure the programing just holes things. Yeah. Yeah. Perfect.

00:12:16:05 –> 00:12:38:19
We, we have three guys from endow that they’re data gurus and then a couple business rule experts. And we get on the zoom meeting all day and, and just, we have queries built and they’ve run hundreds of queries looking for different things that may be an exception. And, and we’re, we’re looking good, but we’re, we got a few more to check, but we’ll be ready by midnight.

00:12:39:14 –> 00:12:48:15
Okay. All right. Alright buddy. That’s what we like to hear. All thanks for ta. We’re gonna go. Thanks for taking our call. We’re gonna hoping to thanks. Hoping to give you some positive feedback. Okay.

00:12:48:24 –> 00:12:50:11
Hey, call anytime. Appreciate

00:12:50:11 –> 00:12:51:00
The help. Thanks Jeff.

00:12:51:25 –> 00:12:52:07
Okay. Alright.

00:12:53:15 –> 00:12:59:20
Kind of a big deal. They’re starting a new tradition. No longer the Friday going into Memorial weekend. They’re breaking the

00:13:00:02 –> 00:13:12:06
Mold. They’re breaking the mold. Yeah. It’s gonna be midnight madness end. Now for the rest of our lives, people aren’t gonna go to work tomorrow. Well, especially guys like quiet. Especially on the east coast. Well if you don’t cost three

00:13:12:18 –> 00:13:12:25
But

00:13:12:25 –> 00:13:16:08
It’s, and you spend the, and you stay up till midnight, you ain’t going to work tomorrow. But if

00:13:16:08 –> 00:13:21:19
You’re on the east coast, just go to bed early and get up at three. I mean it’s just getting up a couple hours early. Not

00:13:21:19 –> 00:13:21:29
A big deal.

00:13:22:13 –> 00:13:26:03
I wish I was back there right now. So You do. Yeah, just,

00:13:26:11 –> 00:13:27:13
I wish I was just

00:13:27:13 –> 00:13:27:21
One night

00:13:28:06 –> 00:13:37:23
An hour earlier than you. Yeah. Pacific time. It’s the same. Prove it. Alright, well

00:13:37:23 –> 00:13:38:21
Turn exciting.

00:13:39:03 –> 00:13:40:13
It is exciting. We’re gonna fight

00:13:40:13 –> 00:13:44:05
Out if the antelope trifecta is play tomorrow for you. We

00:13:44:05 –> 00:13:45:03
Have to talk about that. Well

00:13:45:03 –> 00:13:47:09
You’ve self-proclaimed a few things. No, I haven’t.

00:13:47:23 –> 00:13:51:01
You proclaimed and I had to agree by contractual

00:13:51:11 –> 00:13:54:18
Interview here. He did proclaim, what did he proclaim? Geez,

00:13:54:27 –> 00:13:55:19
He’s, it’s a joke.

00:13:56:16 –> 00:14:01:03
It’s a joke. A trophy antelope hunter. I think those with the word. It’s a joke. A year of the antelope. It’s a

00:14:01:03 –> 00:14:04:09
Joke trifecta. Something like that. It was a joke. It’s no longer funny. The

00:14:04:09 –> 00:14:05:00
Year of the two point.

00:14:05:18 –> 00:14:12:00
All right. Anyway, Wyoming Elk Bronson coming out and Wyatt Devin coming out this Thursday. Be ready.

00:14:12:26 –> 00:14:53:05
It’s just super exciting. Yeah. Unless they, unless they come out anytime and they’re early. They were early by a couple, two, three days on their moose, sheep, goat bison. So, but it is scheduled for the 21st Thursday, 10:00 AM usually And they’re usually not a minute early from what they No tell you. Kind of, kind of fun too. Big, big week Utah. You should have results for Utah in your email if you for some reason don’t already. Yes. They’re not loaded on your online account yet, as of last night. So they’ll be trickling in. But a lot of, lot of happy people we’ve been talking to in Utah the last couple of days. So making plans and, and all that

00:14:53:08 –> 00:15:08:29
Booking hunts, like it’s their job. Alright, well we do have some deadlines coming up. We’ve got Washington extended until the 21st. That’d be Thursday as well. Deadline there. I know Wyatt’s looking forward to that. Montana antelope. Wyatt, June 1st. Yep. I’ve

00:15:08:29 –> 00:15:10:29
Been answering questions on that one this morning. Yeah,

00:15:10:29 –> 00:15:11:26
You have been. You did?

00:15:12:01 –> 00:15:13:07
Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Wow.

00:15:13:21 –> 00:15:14:28
So like crazy. I thought

00:15:14:28 –> 00:15:16:20
I was done with those questions. So I guess

00:15:17:04 –> 00:15:22:25
Is there like a 250 club or something? Like you get three antelope and Yeah, there’s some

00:15:23:14 –> 00:15:26:08
Hallmark. What would that be? Let’s, I’m gonna do some math. I

00:15:26:08 –> 00:15:27:29
Don’t know. Let’s start one. Start

00:15:28:01 –> 00:15:28:20
82

00:15:28:23 –> 00:15:31:01
Times a free entry into a pair of ops. 50.

00:15:31:12 –> 00:15:35:26
Yeah. 82 times three is 2 46. So if a two 50 club, that’s,

00:15:35:27 –> 00:15:37:13
That’s a significant, that’s a 80

00:15:37:19 –> 00:15:40:08
Part. That’s 83 and two to three eight.

00:15:40:11 –> 00:15:47:11
I’m gonna hit it this year. Two 50 do it. Two 50 club. Some other guy. Probably the next entry will be 300

00:15:48:07 –> 00:15:48:13
Probably.

00:15:50:29 –> 00:15:55:12
Oh geez. What’s 90 times three? Two 70. That’s a legit,

00:15:55:22 –> 00:15:56:25
That’s a legit bar, right?

00:15:57:02 –> 00:16:20:23
You hit that you’re a gov tag holder. Yeah. Gala would be in a 2 72 80 club. Yeah, no question. All right. We got California due June 2nd. No Wyoming. Deer and antelope back to June one. Idaho, elk, deer, antelope. June five, Iowa, June seven Arizona, sheep, deer, and of course a point for bison at June 9th. Then we got points only this summer

00:16:22:08 –> 00:16:28:02
Lot coming up here in two weeks. I mean a lot of states still, still to play. Some of them aren’t maybe the most

00:16:30:20 –> 00:16:32:08
What? Most exciting.

00:16:32:18 –> 00:16:32:26
Yeah.

00:16:33:29 –> 00:16:35:28
Revered. Revered for some, keep to mind.

00:16:35:29 –> 00:16:54:17
They are. I mean the, the Wyoming deer antelope, Idaho deer, elk can antelope great options if you haven’t already applied in Idaho for sheep, mustard or goat. As well as obviously Arizona. If you, it all applied for elk or antelope first off, you might as well apply it now. It’s not gonna be cost you very much more to do sheep and deer.

00:16:54:26 –> 00:16:55:22
That’s right. But

00:16:56:09 –> 00:16:57:14
What else is on the horizon?

00:16:57:17 –> 00:17:02:18
Well the other one the, well the other thing we were thinking about is Q, you made a huge announcement today.

00:17:03:20 –> 00:17:07:01
Yeah, it did. Now announced and released the new pattern.

00:17:08:01 –> 00:17:14:16
It’s gonna be awesome. Bronson. We got a set actually sitting in on your office and it looks good. Yeah. And great

00:17:14:16 –> 00:17:42:20
Looking stuff for what I would call sage desert type. You know a lot of the country we end up hunting, right? I mean they’ve had the vyas pattern, which is their, I guess flagship initial one. And then the Verde, which is the green base pattern, which is very effective in like early season. Mountainous train green. Lot more green tones than that. Hence the name Verde. But this is pretty excited about it and just released it today and

00:17:44:06 –> 00:17:44:26
It’s pretty awesome.

00:17:45:06 –> 00:18:01:02
Vallow, I guess that’s, or Vallow. I don’t know if that’s the correct pronunciation. Shoot me if it’s not. But pretty, pretty interesting. They’re not, they don’t rest too long at q you without thinking or taking input, modifying things. And this is a pretty good example of that.

00:18:01:18 –> 00:18:22:06
Yeah, they talk about it, they say it right here. It’s lighter, low contrast pattern. Adds a new dimension to Q you camo should be awesome. Helps break up the human outline effectively. Both long and short range distances. We gotta check it out. We’re gonna have to take it out. We actually just barely got this stuff like last week, right? Friday. Yesterday. Oh,

00:18:22:06 –> 00:18:23:04
Yesterday. Saturday. Saturday,

00:18:23:16 –> 00:18:25:07
Saturday. That’s

00:18:25:07 –> 00:18:28:11
When I got home from camping trip. It could have been there before that, but yeah.

00:18:28:19 –> 00:18:35:17
Took the family camping. How about that? Yeah. Trying to get Father of the year award. Well you try Husband of the year award. Well you

00:18:35:17 –> 00:18:41:01
Try to do those types of things when there’s, they’re the bucks and bulls are all stubby.

00:18:42:05 –> 00:18:46:13
You mean they you mean they’re non-essential. That’s

00:18:46:13 –> 00:18:50:16
Right. Nothing exciting significance there June, early June. You know, you know

00:18:50:16 –> 00:19:04:11
That’s one award that Bronson, you and I both can say we have because nobody knows any different. And Wyatt, Devon and Chris don’t have it. And that’s Father of the Year award and husband of the year award. John has it. We know that’s right. John puts us to shame

00:19:04:29 –> 00:19:05:16
These guys.

00:19:07:00 –> 00:19:15:19
Speaking of which John. Okay. Well anyway, do you guys have anything to say about that? Have you ever had Father of the Year award or Husband of the Year award? No, I have not. I can’t say that. Can’t say. Yeah. Yeah. Well Self to look

00:19:15:19 –> 00:19:32:18
Forward to. And they’re tough to get those awards in our position. And they’re in the category self proclaimed. Yes. And they’re in a category of, how hard is it to win the Bachelor of the Year award? I mean it, you’re in it with hundreds of millions of, of applicants.

00:19:32:27 –> 00:19:35:14
Yeah. Who’s gonna divvy out that award? Yeah.

00:19:36:00 –> 00:19:36:08
Good

00:19:36:08 –> 00:19:37:24
Luck. Did you guys get that? Good

00:19:37:24 –> 00:19:38:25
Luck being that. What

00:19:38:25 –> 00:19:39:26
Award have you got? Can’t

00:19:39:26 –> 00:19:40:18
Say I’ve had that either.

00:19:42:26 –> 00:19:47:02
Who are you guys? Who are you guys? Pretty

00:19:47:02 –> 00:19:47:14
Sure that’s,

00:19:48:23 –> 00:19:57:28
They’re looking at each other like, I’m trying to think of a self, a dad claim award. I could, I’m a good boyfriend for myself. I’m a good boyfriend. You are a homeowner. Almost, almost

00:19:58:03 –> 00:20:05:08
About that. That’s works. Devon awesome. He’s, he’s working on that award. The husband of the Year award. He’s working.

00:20:05:08 –> 00:20:07:10
If he didn’t get Boyfriend of the Year award, I don’t know who would,

00:20:08:14 –> 00:20:09:28
But he’s working on that other title.

00:20:10:00 –> 00:20:12:18
He’s building the Nest, huh? Right.

00:20:13:23 –> 00:20:16:06
With leaves and twigs. Leaves

00:20:16:13 –> 00:20:26:00
Twigs and Mud. Feathers. It’s goods. Well Chris, he’s Chris. I forgot you’re a homeowner. You have been forever,

00:20:26:20 –> 00:20:27:12
Huh? Yeah, yeah,

00:20:27:12 –> 00:20:30:00
Yeah. Trying to fill it. Do your best that you can do there.

00:20:30:14 –> 00:20:33:22
Let everybody here. He doesn’t have any problem filling it. It’s, that’s full.

00:20:34:25 –> 00:20:39:19
It’s full. All kinds of family in there. Yeah. That’s awesome. Why? Where you at? Who

00:20:39:19 –> 00:20:41:07
Knows? Who knows?

00:20:44:03 –> 00:21:41:02
Alright. Right. Well John, let’s, let’s see you, you got husband and father of the year award at the lake. How’d that go? How’d that go, John? So Wyatt, it’s not your turn to get abused, it’s Wyatt. I don’t know what I’ve heard this story. Geez. You know you have those times in your life when you think I’m an idiot and those need to come out on the podcast. I guess those, that’s why you’re here today, John. I have that in my notes. Some days are more rocky than others. Oh. Oh. So John and I go to Lake Powell. We’re trying to separately You’re trying to maintain the dad Father year awards. Well I’ve, I’ve got an 18 year old graduating from high school. I’ve got like a week and a half left before working for the son’s. Kind of freaking out. ’cause it’s the rest of it’s like it, you know, he’s gone forever.

00:21:41:12 –> 00:22:31:18
Yeah. Not, not necessarily, but it could be. Feels like it. But he might like New York. Yeah. He might like it. He’s going to New York to, might become a democrat to work. Who knows? Work on Long Island or something, you know. And places we’ve never been. So, yeah. So, and we’ve read a lot about the news. Oh, first of all. So we go to Lake Powell, take the, take the camp trailer and the boat and roll down there with all kids. Have an amazing weekend. Yeah. And it’s a, it’s, it’s a dangerous lake, let’s be honest. Yeah. That place has got fluctuating formations, shorelines, irregular shorelines and rock formations in the middle. Hundreds of hundreds of miles of shoreline. Yes. Yeah. Alright. So set in the stage we go to, it was just weird too ’cause there’s nobody there, you know, on a normal year. Not except for the ramp Coronavirus was stacked up.

00:22:31:21 –> 00:23:12:00
Yeah. But but it’s open. Yeah. They opened it up and, but a fraction of what would look like. Yeah. A fraction of the normal people are there. And they tell you there’s no officers, there’s no staff, nothing. The covid has got everybody scared. You didn’t have to pay to get in. ’cause there weren’t any parks you can’t even pay to for itself. You can’t even put a lake pal sticker on your boat. There’s nothing. No, it was great. So, and then in the middle of the lake, there’s a marine where you can get gas called dangling rope. Right. So you go there, it’s empty ghost town. So we’re looking at the boards with the kids. ’cause usually you go, you get ice cream, you eat there and it’s a great time. But it was just weird. Ghost town. We’re looking at the thing and there’s all these pictures of these boat accidents.

00:23:13:01 –> 00:24:01:18
What? I’ve seen those, but, and it, and it says, don’t leave your brain at home. Oh. So we’re cruising back. I forgot about those. Yeah. So that’ll come up later. That’s not me kids. That’s not us. Yeah. There’s a houseboat upside down in one of the pictures. Come on. And I’m like, see, I don’t wanna be that guy. Yeah. That’s why they make you have insurance. Did you? I mean, you have to have insurance. Do you have insurance on your boat? Oh yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Okay, so, so we’re going back and the kids are like, Hey, let’s do one last, one last run at the Wakeboard. So we drop a kid in the water, pulling him on the wakeboards. I’m a hundred yards, at least from shore. But the water’s glass. It’s beautiful. And all of a sudden, and you’re going full board with steer I’m going full board with the Wakeboarder.

00:24:01:24 –> 00:24:50:18
Yeah. And I see rocks. I’m on top of ’em. I all, I, I have time to barely, you know, throttle down. Throttle down. We hit and we’re stuck on the rocks. Gravel bar. Yeah. Like, kind of. Luckily it wasn’t solid rock. I, I’ve been look at a glass a full here. Yeah. I slip rock would’ve launched you. Yes. And, and probably the boat’s sitting there and, and we’re all 50 yards past the boat. Yeah. Yeah. It could’ve been passed. The gravel kind of slowly absorbs you. Yeah. Versus an abrupt stall made me think that maybe somebody should have some seat belts on their boat. You know what I mean? Like, think about it. You could’ve been ejected. Oh, oh, easily. Easily. But it must’ve been loud. I didn’t, I didn’t hear anything. I mean, it happened so fast because we had boats coming over, you know, to see how we were immediately.

00:24:51:14 –> 00:25:40:28
And it was bad. And I mean, anyway, I, I thought I’ve gotta have holes in the bottom of my, of the, of the hole. And, and we got out and the boats, it was just perfect. So the rocks were, were under the water and, and you couldn’t see ’em until you were right on top of them. And like I said, a hundred yards from shore just happened to be, the lake was at the perfect level. That, that all those rocks were covered. Yeah. It’s perfectly calm. It’s not like the water perfectly calm change different. Yeah. Usually, you know, the water’s moving a little bit. You can tell there’s something underneath or, you know, and anyway, it just, it sucked. So, and you got kids screaming at you. He says, faster dad, faster hammer down. Oh, the kid. The kid music’s blaring the kid on the, you’re playing, playing with your phone.

00:25:40:28 –> 00:26:27:26
Going to the next song Bluetooth kid I was pulling was like, Jen, Jen speak French in the other area. So when you came to a stop, did he all of a sudden just pass you by? Did No. He, he, he heard, he’s like, I heard a big crash. And I just let go. You know, I let go and sat on a rock. Oh yeah. He looked like a mermaid. Sitting there. Go. But anyway, at the end of the day, you were able to drive it back. Yeah, we, I, I told the kids, I mean, I was kind of freaking out. You stop, like you’re not even, you can’t, no need to. We tried to push the boat. It stuck on land, you know, it’s outta the water pretty much. And, and so I just, we could rock it back and forth. And I, I told them to dig out, guys came over, we dug out enough rocks that it was almost flowing.

00:26:27:27 –> 00:27:05:11
Kind of. Yeah. And then you kind of, and then we had somebody pull from the front and we all pushed and it came off. But man, the prop is just hamburger. They make new props every day. Oh yeah. Anyway, the bottom anyway, the bottom’s fine. Right? Oh, fully. It’s fine. It’ll be fine. I was shocked at how much abuse that thing could take. It’s got some scratches. Well, I told Janna I’m not worried anymore. Yeah. Like it’s, it takes a significant something to get a hole in that thing. Yeah. I mean, I, I really expected to have a hole in the bottom of the hole. I mean, you could probably drag it across bare dry pavement. Probably could be fine for half mile. Let that thing fall off your trailer. It’s good to know. Let that thing fall off the end of your trailer, driving down the highway.

00:27:05:14 –> 00:27:45:18
It can handle it. Yeah. Can handle that’s you’re saying can handle it. Yeah. Yeah. Whatever. So I’m feeling good about being, you need to drag it. That’s why feeling good. Just about being alive. And on the way back, my kids are like, Hey dad, you leave your brain. Aw, come on. Geez. No, my shirt didn’t, you’re gonna be dinged for part of this son. They were up front watching probably, or should been kill you. Instead they’re looking for chicks. Oh yeah. Then I had two kids in the front watching and watching before it. They saw it when I did. Just Wow. Last minute. Well, sorry man. There’s a new land market, man. Lake Powell called John’s Bar. Yeah. The gravel bar. It’s horrible. John’s bar. Well and that’s, that’s not the dumb, maybe why? We’ll have a drink of caffeine at John’s bar.

00:27:48:26 –> 00:28:25:11
I dunno. 2020s been a bad year for me. That’s, that’s not even the dumbest thing I did. Don’t what? Come on. You got, you talk in the four. You got the four wheeler in Mexico. Oh, the black eye. That was just to start out the black eye. Yeah. Yeah, the black eye. We already talked the first day of 2020. Yeah. We, we, it was end of January. If you make it through this year alive, I’ll be shocked. I I will too. Life insurance policy coming out. I’m sure it is paid idiot. I’ll pay. I’m gonna pull, what else, John? I mean, I don’t wanna pry, but I can’t remember. I mean the black guy, the other one here, but I can’t remember. I haven’t told you guys ’cause it, it’s so stupid. I can’t wait. Is you ever think you hear it? You heard it here first.

00:28:25:11 –> 00:29:31:18
Folks. Go ahead John. I dunno. Why am even telling you confessions of Chris? Are you sure you’re recording? This ain’t gonna come out twice the same. Trying to figure out. So what is, what is this? You? No, no, no. This is gonna implicate now. You ever think this is the dumbest thing I’ve ever done in my life. And it was last week? No shit. Before the boat. Before the boat. All right. So I got a trailer last year. Camp trailer off season camp trailer. First one with a toilet, right? What do you mean? First one with a toilet? First one I’ve owned with a toilet. Oh, okay. So you’re in your front yard and it and the, and the, and the blackwater’s open and you decide to test it. No. So, so the dude that I bought it from, it was low season. I got an amazing deal ’cause it was dead winter, you know? And he’s like, it’s all winterized, you know, ready to go. It’s awesome, you know, no problems whatsoever. This thing’s been, you asked me, you said, was there anything I need to do? I’m like, no. I just like, make sure your valves are closed and fill it up and your pump’s gonna go forever to fill up the hot water heater. Yep. Yeah. It should have been fine and happy. Should have been fine. Well, I like to, you know, see how everything works.

00:29:33:25 –> 00:30:55:17
So I crawl under there. I’m like, it’s been winterized. The thing’s empty. Come on, you open it up. I’m sitting under the Blackwater valve and I’m like, come on. Okay. This one would pull this. I open it. No. Bull bull. Bleep it all over me. I’m telling you. Come on. How did you It was horrible. I’m, I wonder what this does. That is a covid environment, John. It’s been sitting there for who knows how long. And it’s not And it’s not even yours. No. And it was the grossest thing ever. It’s the other dudes and their family. And their family and their family in my chest, in my lap. What? Yeah. And anyway, I keep the trailer at a storage gate. John was your phone right there. I have to tell my wife, drive me down with some clothes. I gotta get, I gotta get some clothes. That smell was horrible. And it’s, it’s night like John Dark. I have to go get the hose and hose off in the parking lot. I’m freezing my butt off. But it stunk so bad. I could, it was horrible. It was the worst thing ever. Then I think. Why, why that fall on the podcast, on the podcast? Really, John, you have, wow.

00:30:56:07 –> 00:30:57:08
That was probably the

00:30:57:08 –> 00:31:39:08
Worst week of your life. It’s so stupid. That is so, and then a beach boat. Don’t drive a four-wheeler. He’s under there. No. And he’s gotta be gasping. So he’s got his mouth up. Oh my. And he’s got, oh no. So I’m pacing back and forth, just soaking wet. Sorry John. I couldn’t leave all the crap on me waiting for my wife to get back with clothes. And I’m changing the parking lot. Oh my gosh, John. It was. And you held that in for a week before you divorced. I didn’t even want to tell the story. It’s so stupid. Hundred low lead after that. That sucks. You, you know, just walking in here thing. Nothing happened. Just like your shiner. Oh, he comes in, it looks like he’s been in a bar. Fight. Doesn’t say a word. John comes up from

00:31:39:08 –> 00:31:39:16
Mexico

00:31:40:14 –> 00:31:41:06
And pretty

00:31:41:07 –> 00:31:44:00
Sure he looked like he’d been in U f C 2 52.

00:31:45:08 –> 00:32:06:29
Idiot. Wow. Holy cow. Bad year. Bad year for me. Huh? Wow. Well, it’ll get better, I promise. How can it get worse? It can’t get worse. How can it get worse? You beach the boat on John’s bar and you end up with somebody else’s feces all over you. Okay. So bad by the gallon. Come on. I’m pretty sure

00:32:07:03 –> 00:32:14:25
All you listeners out there, the next time you’re under your trailer, you’re gonna think about this podcast. Don’t pull the lever.

00:32:14:28 –> 00:32:30:22
Don’t pull the lever. Don’t. Did you tell your kids? Yes. No shit. Yeah. And then, you know, so no wonder the brains like, don’t leave your brain at home, dad. I’m like, shut up. We’re gonna keep the quarantine going forever. Wow. Well,

00:32:30:29 –> 00:32:36:11
John, that was a rough week. I, I am su you’re holding it together very well. ’cause you held that in.

00:32:36:21 –> 00:32:38:24
And I didn’t draw Utah elk, which

00:32:38:24 –> 00:32:44:05
I thought I was going. You had a two or three point buffer for your elk test. You talk about point creep. Yeah. You’ve

00:32:44:05 –> 00:32:46:11
Had a, we you’ve had a chissy week, John.

00:32:47:24 –> 00:32:48:02
Yeah.

00:32:48:15 –> 00:32:49:04
Literally

00:32:50:00 –> 00:32:50:19
A rocky week.

00:32:51:16 –> 00:32:52:28
Let’s been a rocky chissy week.

00:32:55:12 –> 00:32:55:20
John.

00:32:56:20 –> 00:32:57:02
I can’t top that.

00:32:57:24 –> 00:33:00:07
I can’t. We’re done. We’re done. My guess. Let’s,

00:33:00:15 –> 00:33:07:08
Let’s call a Nevada resident. Good friend of ours. Adam Kearney. Huh? Let’s see if he’s ready for some draw results.

00:33:07:17 –> 00:33:08:18
He’s not even had a bad

00:33:10:04 –> 00:33:11:11
I don’t think so either. No. And

00:33:11:11 –> 00:33:15:07
It’s, what is it Pacific time? I mean Pacific time? No, I guess it’s, it is.

00:33:15:09 –> 00:33:17:28
It’s 8 47. He’s been up for 15 minutes. No,

00:33:17:28 –> 00:33:19:16
He’s giving a call. He’s not.

00:33:21:23 –> 00:33:23:05
Your secret’s safe for us, John.

00:33:23:09 –> 00:33:23:18
Yeah.

00:33:27:08 –> 00:33:27:14
Yo,

00:33:28:08 –> 00:33:28:29
What are you doing?

00:33:30:00 –> 00:33:31:01
Just sitting at Ford?

00:33:32:14 –> 00:33:39:00
What are you doing? What? You’re awake. You’re acting like you’re awake when really this phone call woke you up, Mr. Bronson.

00:33:39:04 –> 00:33:48:17
He, you know what’s funny, Jason acts like I, I sleep in all the time and I’m getting up at five 30 and he’s cranking me at three 30 in the morning asking me if I’m up yet.

00:33:49:19 –> 00:33:52:13
Sometimes I do. I’m kind of, I’m gonna admit that

00:33:53:15 –> 00:33:57:02
If I miss his call at 8:00 AM Vegas time, he’s telling me to wake up

00:33:57:06 –> 00:34:01:19
Yesterday morning. I said, Hey, when you get up, go ahead and gimme a ring. I’ll say you those optics I did. When

00:34:02:01 –> 00:34:02:18
Was at 10:00 AM

00:34:03:05 –> 00:34:04:10
It’s like eight or nine.

00:34:06:01 –> 00:34:08:28
What are you doing down there? Is that in that ghost town?

00:34:09:15 –> 00:34:12:12
Oh man, I’m not wearing a mask.

00:34:13:01 –> 00:34:15:10
Wow. Well you’re gonna go to jail. You’re down there in Vegas.

00:34:16:10 –> 00:34:20:22
Yep. Yeah, you’re, if you’re not wearing a mask, you’re a minority here. For sure. Wow.

00:34:21:22 –> 00:34:23:26
How is Covid treating Vegas? Pretty rough.

00:34:25:04 –> 00:34:35:13
You know what? It could be worse. We’re, we’re still making a little bit of money, you know, but our city’s, it’s pretty sad. Yeah, it’s pretty slow. So.

00:34:36:18 –> 00:34:36:27
Well,

00:34:37:02 –> 00:34:44:25
But we’re, we’re cranking still, still, still have enough money to put some gas in the truck. Hit the roads.

00:34:44:29 –> 00:34:51:02
Well, we’re gonna give, we’re gonna give all you a surprise in Vegas. A reason to stay up till midnight tonight.

00:34:52:14 –> 00:34:53:07
Hey, you

00:34:53:07 –> 00:34:55:09
Draw results man. At midnight. Draw

00:34:55:09 –> 00:34:57:03
Results at midnight. You think you’ll be up?

00:34:58:19 –> 00:35:00:05
Guaranteed. I stay up today. Alright.

00:35:00:20 –> 00:35:01:19
It’s part in Vegas.

00:35:02:12 –> 00:35:04:17
You ain’t, you ain’t even gonna work at 10:00 AM tomorrow.

00:35:08:01 –> 00:35:14:23
So we just had to call a Vegas person and let ’em know a reason to stay up till midnight. ’cause that hasn’t been going on a lot lately down there.

00:35:15:05 –> 00:35:29:06
Y you know, la la last year it came out at midnight and Polish and all them were texting me all night and, you know, so I woke up and, and it was pretty fun. But being up two in the morning, messing around, seeing who drew what, you know, so.

00:35:29:08 –> 00:35:33:05
Yeah. Well, it’s gonna happen. So I know it’s something to look forward to.

00:35:33:29 –> 00:35:37:02
I don’t think, I don’t think there’s any reason for you to stay awake.

00:35:38:02 –> 00:35:42:22
Is it o is it okay if I is, is it okay if I tell you guys that I’m drawing p i w sheep this year?

00:35:43:22 –> 00:35:47:18
You’re calling, you’re shot. Oh wow. Yeah, you can say that.

00:35:47:28 –> 00:35:51:29
But I mean, if it, if it really happens, am I gonna get investigated? Like, like

00:35:52:07 –> 00:35:52:16
Well,

00:35:52:16 –> 00:35:57:17
Oh yeah. Alker me. We, we know, we know some people. We’re definitely, you’ll definitely have some stress in your life.

00:36:00:29 –> 00:36:03:16
It, it involves your right arm to the square and a few,

00:36:04:13 –> 00:36:11:06
Some swearing. Some swearing. Hey, have you been test driving that new tremor or what are you doing?

00:36:12:02 –> 00:36:20:04
I like it. I like it. You know what, it’d just be a pavement princess for me. So I’m not sure if I could utilize it like Carter could. But

00:36:20:08 –> 00:36:21:25
What’s a trimmer? Trimmer’s?

00:36:21:25 –> 00:36:22:05
Like a new

00:36:22:11 –> 00:36:24:02
Is that like your edger for your lawn? No,

00:36:24:05 –> 00:36:35:01
No, no. It’s a trimmer. Trior. Oh. It’s a new Ford model. It’s like what a wazoo diesel getting 20 plus miles a gallon wazo. Crazy tricked out forward, right? Yep.

00:36:35:28 –> 00:36:39:16
Yep. Crazy suspension. 35 inch wheels. Just nuts.

00:36:40:09 –> 00:36:40:16
Wow.

00:36:40:19 –> 00:36:43:26
You, you still got a raptor or you you send that down the road? It

00:36:44:10 –> 00:36:47:26
No, I still have the raptor. Okay. I got 51,000 miles on it now.

00:36:48:20 –> 00:36:49:07
Pavement

00:36:49:28 –> 00:36:51:06
All pave pavement.

00:36:51:16 –> 00:36:52:05
All pavement.

00:36:53:01 –> 00:36:53:07
So.

00:36:53:11 –> 00:36:53:18
Yep.

00:36:53:26 –> 00:37:00:18
You guys won’t believe it. But Kearney found a pair of sheds now. And I don’t know if he found ’em on his own or not, or if somebody, or if he went and bought ’em, but he found them

00:37:01:08 –> 00:37:03:07
Kearney. Dear, dear,

00:37:03:15 –> 00:37:03:24
Dear.

00:37:04:19 –> 00:37:09:24
What did you find Kearney? I, it was just, haven’t seen it on the gram. So what’d you find? Just,

00:37:10:08 –> 00:37:30:26
Just dumb luck man. Just hike. Hike, gonna go put a camera up and thought I was being gonna have a little fun. And I looked down to see a, an antler and it was brown and, and I looked over in the bush and there was another one. So both of them matching sets. And I have some buddies that have been hitting those hills pretty hard and all they came up with was chalk. So I was pretty pumped up.

00:37:31:05 –> 00:37:36:07
Yeah, that’s awesome. Good luck with potential 2020 potential you think? Or not too young.

00:37:36:17 –> 00:37:39:05
Yeah, me and Jason have ’em on camera actually.

00:37:39:17 –> 00:37:41:20
Yeah, come on. That’s good deer. Yep.

00:37:42:03 –> 00:37:48:05
It’s a good deer. Yeah, those are my sheds. Probably. Probably. Those are my one 90 shed

00:37:48:05 –> 00:37:48:17
Something.

00:37:48:22 –> 00:37:49:28
The apple doesn’t fall far

00:37:49:28 –> 00:37:50:12
From the tree

00:37:50:15 –> 00:37:55:19
On that one. Those are, those are mine. Those are mine. K. Who’s paying shipping?

00:37:59:16 –> 00:38:06:26
No, no joke. I’ve never been shed honey in my whole life. I’ve, I think I’ve found one elk horn one time and I’ve never found sheds.

00:38:07:07 –> 00:38:08:13
I think that was in somebody’s garden.

00:38:09:09 –> 00:38:14:00
Yeah, no doubt. No doubt. I think it fell the guy’s truck in front of me.

00:38:16:04 –> 00:38:17:23
Hey, you take him. I think

00:38:17:23 –> 00:38:22:07
It did you because it was laying on the road and and he had this pile of ’em on his quad. I think that’s how I found it.

00:38:24:11 –> 00:38:32:13
That what are you top heavy on? On points? I mean, you got a, you’ve never drawn a sheep. You got like 20, I have 20 something on sheep, bulk cheap.

00:38:32:17 –> 00:38:44:11
Yeah, I have like 27, 28 on all sheep species in Nevada. Yeah. I have 17 elk points and mountain goat. 20 something. So sheep and sheep and goat.

00:38:44:14 –> 00:38:45:01
You’re due?

00:38:45:19 –> 00:38:51:13
Yeah. Yeah. I’m due man. You’re due. Yeah. I’ve been putting in for 28 years in Nevada for sheep and having drone yet. Yeah.

00:38:51:17 –> 00:38:55:18
Well you’re due maybe. Yep. Maybe you gotta vibe. You

00:38:55:21 –> 00:38:57:20
Be or silver state maybe too.

00:38:58:03 –> 00:38:58:12
Geez,

00:39:00:19 –> 00:39:00:25
You

00:39:01:01 –> 00:39:01:29
Hey Bronson, you, this

00:39:01:29 –> 00:39:03:22
Guy’s luckiest guy’s. The the

00:39:03:22 –> 00:39:07:16
Luckiest guy. You drank your optimistic coffee blend this morning. I’m, I will give you that.

00:39:07:19 –> 00:39:12:02
I did. Hey, I, the big question is though, when I draw that tag, are you guys hunting me?

00:39:13:02 –> 00:39:19:16
No. Hell no. This is, this is the

00:39:19:23 –> 00:39:22:29
Part of the podcast where Chris will insert the crickets chirping,

00:39:25:05 –> 00:39:27:28
Bleep and crickets. Chris bleep and crickets.

00:39:30:13 –> 00:39:38:18
Oh, we’re giving you a hard time current. If you wasn’t so hard to give a hard time to we wouldn’t do it. ’cause you take it well. So we just have to, Hey,

00:39:38:18 –> 00:39:52:04
You know what I I I I only have one friend in Vegas that has a a net non-typical. So I’m, I think I’m pretty cool when I walk around here thanks to, to Epic and, and Carter in Bronson outfit. You guys hook me up. You’ve

00:39:52:04 –> 00:39:53:28
Got a, you got a net net Boer?

00:39:55:02 –> 00:39:55:11
I do,

00:39:55:26 –> 00:39:56:05
Yeah,

00:39:56:25 –> 00:40:00:25
I do, I do, I do walk into rooms and, and mine is bigger. So

00:40:02:27 –> 00:40:21:07
On. Hey, put that, put that in your wi put that in your wheel for me. Tell Aspen That one’s mine. She can have the shit. She can have the shit. Yeah. Okay. So how’s the moisture down there? Has it just been off the chart? It seems like it’s been dry. A little bit of a dry spell. It got hot

00:40:21:07 –> 00:40:21:16
Quick.

00:40:21:19 –> 00:40:35:07
You, you, you, you know what you guys, it hasn’t been ultra hot. We had a few weeks of it kind of being hot. It’s kind of nice today. But every hill I go to, I, you know, I live in Vegas obviously, but all the mountains around the house have green grass everywhere. It’s unbelievable.

00:40:36:06 –> 00:40:36:22
Bring it.

00:40:36:26 –> 00:40:46:13
Yeah, that’s good. So I’m not sure how, I’m not sure how much more moisture we need. Obviously we need some more, but we had great last year. Good. This year and two years in a row in the desert.

00:40:47:00 –> 00:41:06:12
Yeah. Well, well in this, this time of year, everything turns to burnt to a crisp about any two weeks from now. Three maybe. Yeah. It feels dark. So you don’t have a green June and July. You don’t, it doesn’t happen. It’s not, that’s, that’s what 110 to 20 does for it. Temperature. Yeah.

00:41:07:21 –> 00:41:18:17
It seems dry to me. I I, I took a trip down there to my in-laws and what were you doing? Just stuff. And it, he was going

00:41:18:17 –> 00:41:19:06
Down there for

00:41:19:06 –> 00:41:20:04
The, he was

00:41:20:04 –> 00:41:21:16
Sitting, going down there for the pigtail rounds.

00:41:22:16 –> 00:41:23:28
Oh, come on the

00:41:24:02 –> 00:41:24:11
Hyenas.

00:41:24:26 –> 00:41:28:04
Come on. Yeah. I went and visited the hyenas. We need to get him on a podcast.

00:41:28:17 –> 00:41:37:18
Oh, I don’t know. We, I dunno if we have enough, Chris would pay him overtime time and a half for a week to edit that. It might take, it might might take a whole week to edit.

00:41:38:13 –> 00:41:42:24
So 14 channels of data coming in. It’d be brutal.

00:41:44:03 –> 00:41:52:07
We gotta, I I can’t remember what Adam Sandler movie it is. But the guy with the one like weird eye when he looks at you, that’s Jared, you know, up on the picked

00:41:53:20 –> 00:42:06:04
There is. Well, isn’t there, what’s that Disney show with the high knee in? And there’s one of them that has crazy eyes. Oh yeah. What, what is that? Is that lion King? King Lion. Lion. King Lion. Is it just Lion King? And one of them has like cross-eyed it.

00:42:07:04 –> 00:42:07:11
Yep.

00:42:07:29 –> 00:42:08:18
Okay. Current.

00:42:08:18 –> 00:42:10:23
That that’s, that’s, that’s the little fella right there.

00:42:11:06 –> 00:42:13:18
Oh geez. Well, Kearney

00:42:13:18 –> 00:42:16:29
Anybody that wants to make their deer look big, just let Jared get behind it.

00:42:17:04 –> 00:42:29:10
Oh. Oh gosh. Geez. He, he is 135 pounds soaking wet. But Kearney’s funny ’cause he knows my in-laws and I mean, they give each other a lot of grief. Kearney’s a self-proclaimed Wie wrestler. Well

00:42:29:10 –> 00:42:30:28
If the old wrestlers,

00:42:31:21 –> 00:42:31:28
The

00:42:31:28 –> 00:42:38:11
Old wrestlers, the wrestler the good back in your day, they never died. They never died.

00:42:38:15 –> 00:42:41:14
Never died. I mean, this was 30 years ago. Kir Wyatt, weren’t you a wrestler?

00:42:41:29 –> 00:42:43:24
Wrestl a But I was never gonna get,

00:42:44:26 –> 00:42:47:20
I would love to see Wyatt and Kearney wrestler.

00:42:48:25 –> 00:43:06:19
The be the be the best part is is they, they lived out in Mopa and, and, and when I brought up the pigtail rounds, because I said you guys never even got to make an, you had to wrestle just to get into the tournament we were in. And no joke, we were on the side of a hill. I thought these dudes were gonna throw down on me.

00:43:07:02 –> 00:43:11:16
Oh, they looked at him and Jared got that weird eye and I mean it was going down.

00:43:12:00 –> 00:43:14:04
Jared said, I ain’t never lost no Vegas boy.

00:43:17:14 –> 00:43:17:20
So,

00:43:18:09 –> 00:43:27:07
Oh, there you go. That’s right. Basketball guys just kind of hang it up. They know when their knees and ankles are about to blow and they’re just tap out wrestlers never tap out

00:43:28:02 –> 00:43:35:18
The first three days of the hunt. These guys were awesome, you know, super respectful. And soon as Carter started teeing off on me, they just jumped right in. So I got gang on.

00:43:35:29 –> 00:43:39:14
You can always count, you can always count on the woe Lees they have got your back. Well, and

00:43:39:14 –> 00:43:44:11
Just hence the name, the hyenas. They’re there to jump gang tackle. A hundred

00:43:44:11 –> 00:43:46:06
Percent. Yeah. Naw, the crap outta you

00:43:46:12 –> 00:43:53:19
Get like 2020 hyenas trying to kill one lion. It’s, I’ve You’ve watched it on YouTube. Google it. Anyway. Pretty impressive.

00:43:53:24 –> 00:43:56:16
Bloodbath gurney’s usually right in the middle of it.

00:43:57:02 –> 00:44:07:12
Well, alright, we better not keep you from making a dollar today, so we’ll let you go, but appreciate it man. And you’re welcome to text Carter any hour of the night, but my phone will be off, so,

00:44:08:03 –> 00:44:10:06
Right. Wyatt sounds good. Wyatt

00:44:10:06 –> 00:44:16:01
Devvin will let luck to everybody. Wyatt Devvin will be manning the phones here in the office. What Wyatt’s? Planning on drinking a mountain dew or something, so.

00:44:16:09 –> 00:44:16:29
Sounds good.

00:44:18:05 –> 00:44:18:28
Alright. Good

00:44:18:28 –> 00:44:21:05
Luck boss. All p i w or bust.

00:44:21:21 –> 00:44:23:25
He’s a lucky sucker too. All right. Talk to you later.

00:44:24:21 –> 00:44:26:07
He’s due, he’s gonna draw a sheet tag.

00:44:27:08 –> 00:44:27:22
I don’t know.

00:44:28:20 –> 00:44:34:13
Well, his, his uncle did last year at, because of the little coaching and app applying, we took him. It’s awesome.

00:44:35:20 –> 00:44:36:06
I hope not.

00:44:36:14 –> 00:44:52:16
If we, if he does though, and we would end up taking him. It’s there’s gonna be podcasts every night in the camp trailer. It will be. You remember that time we went to dinner at the m down there with him? Oh. Oh my God. I don’t, I

00:44:52:16 –> 00:44:53:11
Don’t dunno. My face hurt.

00:44:53:15 –> 00:45:12:29
We laughed after the first two minutes. Yeah. Anyway, we were there for 3, 2, 3 hours and I, we just kept waiting to get the, the back of, of our collars pulled and escorted out of the place. I know remember how loud, loud we were. And we’re not even, we don’t even drink. We weren’t even that loud because of that. We’re just,

00:45:13:15 –> 00:45:34:22
Just yucking, just ying. And he’s a funny dude. And we took him hunting out there in Nevada. He did kill a, a net book, non-typical. I mean that’s sucker gross. 2 41 and netted over two 30. Anyway, it was pretty amazing. We’ll have to get him on for that story. Kearney’s a funny dude. Fun to give hard time too. Alright guys,

00:45:35:00 –> 00:45:38:25
Where are we at? Anything else noteworthy, praiseworthy or a good report?

00:45:40:18 –> 00:45:55:24
Well, we do have a membership drive going on. We also sell some optics. What else do we want? We do need to do a plug for our service. John. Well you’d mentioned trail cameras and we’ve got some great deals right now. Call in and if you need some trail cameras, we can hook you

00:45:55:25 –> 00:45:59:01
Up. Or outfitters if you need an outfitter. Yeah. Draw Wyoming.

00:45:59:13 –> 00:46:05:01
One of these, basically, if somebody wants to spend money in the hunting industry, they should call us, right? Is that what we’re saying?

00:46:05:01 –> 00:46:21:20
Well, or if you want to go hunting, I mean Oh, good point. Just want to go hunting. I, there’s a lot of opportunities out there. We realize this Covid era is, there’s a lot of things that are probably off the table right now. Who knows? Possibly Canada, who knows on Canada? Who knows on Alaska long term either this fall we’re praying. Some of those things

00:46:22:15 –> 00:46:24:00
Happen shape loose a little bit

00:46:24:22 –> 00:46:42:02
Lower. 48 I guess we’re still, you know, still hoping for things like that. But hunters are pretty optimistic. I mean, they’re, it, it’s our favorite hobby, right? We don’t want to think of a fall without hunting. So we’re still planning as if we are gonna hunt nonstop. So

00:46:42:16 –> 00:47:13:06
Positive thinking that, right? Positive thinking. So did have a guy buy a, a set of optics yesterday? He says, well, doesn’t look like I’m gonna be able to make my hunting trip and so I’ve got a little extra cash and I’ve always wanted this. So here we go. And of course he price checks. People do that. When you’re gonna spend good money, some of these optics really should come with a title, you know what I mean? Oh yeah, absolutely. And rebuilt titles and all of those. Insurance. Yes. Insurance. All of that. But anyway, registration. They’re, they’re worth it. Not saying they’re not, we we’re a sucker for, for all the good wazoo stuff too. So,

00:47:14:05 –> 00:47:48:06
But yeah. On, on the gear trend, whether it’s optics, whether it’s trail cameras, whether it’s, Hey, you drew a great tag and you need to get a new, you know, digi scoping set up. It doesn’t matter. You know, we got people like phone scope and great supporters of us here. Check out their website. P h o n e ss k o p e.com. Doesn’t matter. Your phone’s set up. Doesn’t matter. Your spotter setup. They’ve got something to, they’ll have something to fit. Fit what you got. And the old sing didn’t get it on video, it didn’t happen. No.

00:47:48:10 –> 00:47:49:02
Right. Yeah.

00:47:49:05 –> 00:47:50:11
Isn’t that, isn’t that something?

00:47:50:11 –> 00:47:52:18
Yep. Yep, yep, yep. That’s valid and true.

00:47:52:25 –> 00:48:12:05
But awesome, awesome piece of equipment. It’s getting to be that time. Give it 30 days and the elk, they’re growing, you know, before your eyes. It’s amazing. So within 30 days there’s a whole lot to start looking at. Even the deer by the end of June, early July, will start to look like a buck worth, worth looking at. So wants to look out

00:48:12:05 –> 00:48:30:12
Optic and not the underside of a camp trader. John, did you go and empty out the blackwater again? I did in the proper form. I hooked up to, I did K away campground, flushing system, whatever, but that s o b that I bought that thing from. Wow. Toilet’s leaking. ’cause it froze. I’d put up one star on his review. Yeah. You

00:48:30:12 –> 00:48:31:16
Know. Geez. Was it from a dealer?

00:48:32:03 –> 00:48:38:00
No. Wasn’t dealer Was it on eBay? Crushes eBay. K l Yeah. Worth.

00:48:38:00 –> 00:48:39:04

Put a few coins in your pocket. I’d do it again if I had to. No, I wouldn’t do it again. It was so bad. If you wonder, is that bad? It’s,

00:48:57:02 –> 00:48:57:13
It’s worse.

00:48:57:21 –> 00:49:00:28

00:49:03:08 –> 00:49:07:20

00:49:08:01 –> 00:49:17:26
Or I think of those veterinarians, Chris, you’ve run cows, horses a lot. Those ones that are checking cows and stuff goes wrong. They get, that’s

00:49:17:28 –> 00:50:03:12

About it. We said we were gonna say make a proclamation about what we would be here to help ’em with, but we haven’t been as bold as to say. Say it. Say it. No, I’m, I don’t want to say it. I don’t wanna say that we’ll be here at one in the morning. No, that

00:50:22:06 –> 00:50:22:24
Quiet will

00:50:22:24 –> 00:50:25:19
Be. Well you were, I thought that’s what you want me to say. I

00:50:25:19 –> 00:50:28:12
Was thinking like the member draw. Oh yeah Outfitters.

00:50:28:15 –> 00:50:32:08
Those are all great things. But when are we gonna be able to here to take their call? We’re not gonna be

00:50:32:08 –> 00:50:33:20
Here at One Mountain Standard time. 6:00 AM

00:50:33:22 –> 00:50:43:01

That’s give you a g G 45 NG max.

00:51:09:17 –> 00:51:15:06
You’re gonna have to ask about it. So that way we knew you listen to the podcast, a random caller at 5 43. That means they’re gonna have to

00:51:15:09 –> 00:51:31:29
Stay up for the results and then get up to get to, basically you’re gonna ruin a whole night, which if you’re over 45, you ruin a whole week because you’re trying to catch up. Set some alarms and, and you’re doing that for $120 trail camera. But that’s right. That’s worth it to you Call Jason at five forty three in the morning.

00:51:32:03 –> 00:51:32:26

00:51:49:10 –> 00:51:50:26
Getting lucky. Oh, come

00:51:51:01 –> 00:51:53:01
On. No, this lucky seven.

00:51:53:01 –> 00:51:54:24
Come on. That’s true. I agree. I’m with

00:51:54:24 –> 00:51:56:11
You. Isn’t that why we number

00:51:56:12 –> 00:51:57:14
Train of thought? Isn’t that why

00:51:57:15 –> 00:52:00:20
We picked our number? Apply. Apply Triple seven.

00:52:00:25 –> 00:52:02:29
You think Tracking Outdoors got a tag?

00:52:04:13 –> 00:52:09:25
Oh, well let’s call him at 1201 just to make sure tonight. Okay. You, you hit him on your,

00:52:10:10 –> 00:52:54:11
Hit Him and Angie tell somebody answers. So for those listeners who don’t know, tell ’em what we can do for him. If they do drop, if you do draw, we do have a list of members who’ve hunted it. Your units in the past most likely call in. We’ll put you on that list. We’ll get an email list out to you of members who are willing to visit with you. And of course you’re signing up to visit with people down the road. So it’s an awesome little system we got going here at Epic Outdoors. Good dudes. Super good Hunters, generally a wealth of information coming at you that way. We also have Outfitters work with them daily. Yeah, that’s right. That’s great. Best outfitters out there. We can help you. Any unit, any season, any species. Give us a holler. We want to hear about it. Even if you just wanna brag, call in, rub it in our face. We love people that draw tags,

00:52:54:14 –> 00:53:09:26
Man. If it’s Nevada, but you haven’t called us on your Utah yet and you’ve been meaning to call us. I guess we’ll be here at 6:00 AM Mountain Time. Well, we’ll be here at least 5 42 Mountain Time for the call on five forty three. That’s right. And we’re not gonna answer it if it’s before that, so don’t try to be,

00:53:09:28 –> 00:53:17:20
And that’s on our cell phone so everybody’s got the same time. Right? Doesn’t the cell phones work that way? Pretty. I mean within the, the second, like everybody’s title, that’s

00:53:17:20 –> 00:53:18:29
Not true. Whoa. Okay.

00:53:18:29 –> 00:53:25:10
Open up your phone. I don’t have it. John, open up your phone. Why? How do No, I’m saying 10 0 9. I switched mine because I’m, I’m saying 10 0 9. Oh nine. I

00:53:25:12 –> 00:53:29:01
Switched mine where it wasn’t automatic. I did it manually because it would, I was told

00:53:29:01 –> 00:53:30:14
To, Hey, this is the guy, this is guy

00:53:30:24 –> 00:53:31:13
Manually from what

00:53:32:00 –> 00:53:37:00
I woke up two hours early one time waking a hunter up to say, Hey, let’s go, we’re late. You know, and was

00:53:37:00 –> 00:53:37:06
Early. Oh,

00:53:37:06 –> 00:53:38:28
Because of time zone. My, my phone switched automatically.

00:53:39:00 –> 00:53:43:20
Okay. And, and I get that. Mine does too. And I’ve got it set for Mountain Standard Time. If

00:53:43:20 –> 00:53:50:06
I go to Hawaii. When, when we go to hunt, I always stayed on Salt Lake. Mountain Time. It never changes. ’cause we’re close to Arizona line, close to Nevada. But

00:53:50:06 –> 00:53:52:24
Your your, your phone should say ten oh nine does. It’s

00:53:53:00 –> 00:53:53:25
I don’t have that. That’s

00:53:53:25 –> 00:53:56:05
What, yeah. Okay. So there we

00:53:56:05 –> 00:54:00:28
Go. I think we’re basing it off of towers and Everywhere’s dealing with towers. Right. Trump.

00:54:01:06 –> 00:54:02:22
Trump time. Trump

00:54:02:22 –> 00:54:08:07
Time. When we were kids, remember you wore digital watches and it was like, you’d always try to set it with a bell at school so you knew Exactly.

00:54:08:15 –> 00:54:08:24
Yeah.

00:54:09:07 –> 00:54:11:14
And, and then you found out you’re, and the

00:54:11:14 –> 00:54:12:04
Gets slower faster.

00:54:12:17 –> 00:54:16:19
They wouldn’t, they wouldn’t stay for a week or two. Yeah. I’d be like, I don’t know. I don’t

00:54:16:19 –> 00:54:34:14
Know. What, what are you based off of? How do you know what time is real? Like how do you, who’s anyway, who, who’s master now sets that? I know Trump takes care of everything. He takes care of Corona. He takes care of my guns. He takes care of my hunting. He is my everything. All right folks. Good luck in the draw.
