In this episode we call Epic Outdoors member Robert Mccormick, who hunted Desert Bighorn sheep last year in Mexico and ended up taking a nearly 170” ram! He had a great experience and it just so happens to be the same hunt we’re giving away in our 2025 Summer Hunts giveaway! So, get your tickets in for a chance to have an experience like Roberts. We are also doing another giveaway, if you send us a trail camera picture that was taken anytime in 2024 or 2025 we will enter you in for a chance to win some awesome prizes. There will be multiple winners and the deadline is August 5th, 2025. DM your picture to @epic_hunts on Instagram to enter.

00:00:00:08 –> 00:00:07:03
You are listening to the Epic Outdoors Podcast, brought to you by Fierce Firearms, epic outdoors choice for custom hunting rifles.

00:00:19:06 –> 00:00:27:17
Hey everybody. Jason Carter, Adam Bronson, the entire Epic outdoors crew. Except for some of the gals. Sorry gals. It’s just guys’ day, I guess today, right? We’re

00:00:27:17 –> 00:00:31:04
Celebrating men every day. It every day’s guys’ day

00:00:31:05 –> 00:00:31:14
Here

00:00:31:14 –> 00:00:36:12
At Epic Outdoors. No. The no Queens. No

00:00:36:12 –> 00:00:36:24
Queens.

00:00:37:04 –> 00:00:39:22
I like it. Only kings. Only

00:00:39:28 –> 00:00:40:09
Kings.

00:00:41:10 –> 00:00:47:20
We’re coming off of Father’s Day. So, hey, that’s, that’s what we’re doing here today. I’ve noticed we’re all big talkers

00:00:47:20 –> 00:00:48:00
When there’s

00:00:48:00 –> 00:00:50:22
No women. Of course, tomorrow. Tomorrow’s, tomorrow’s Juneteenth,

00:00:51:03 –> 00:00:52:27
Soundproof room. We can say what we want.

00:00:53:01 –> 00:00:55:03
Yeah, I wanna make sure my wife doesn’t listen to this one.

00:00:56:04 –> 00:01:05:02
Let’s not run this one by Jana. Alright, so anyway, what do we got going? I guess we’re right in the middle of June. Feels like July. Why? It says July is already over. Why?

00:01:05:03 –> 00:01:06:14
Why? Why are you so, such a

00:01:06:14 –> 00:01:06:28
Pessimist

00:01:06:28 –> 00:01:14:23
About July? Why I say the summer’s over. It just seems like July. There’s al always so many events. I mean, it’s just one weekend, weekend of the next week.

00:01:15:00 –> 00:01:19:11
And you don’t own yourself. Why wait till you get to be our age? You do not own yourself.

00:01:19:27 –> 00:01:21:10
You’re just being told what to do.

00:01:22:15 –> 00:01:24:11
Remember when you were young, you could do whatever you wanted.

00:01:24:13 –> 00:01:35:12
Yeah. July seemed like it was forever, man. Summer July was always spent in Nevada, Utah. Looking at bulls, look at bulls. Bulls. You’re the architect of every day. You, you did what you wanted. You roamed

00:01:35:21 –> 00:01:38:06
Tell me who here does what they want every day.

00:01:38:22 –> 00:01:42:17
Logan enjoy it every day. And

00:01:42:19 –> 00:01:44:20
He’s begging for somebody to boss him around.

00:01:46:02 –> 00:01:47:02
I don’t know about begging.

00:01:49:03 –> 00:02:01:15
He’s actively searching. Yeah. Alright, so what do we got going on here guys? Let’s, we Bronson, when we got going, we were kind of talking about maybe building a trail cam contest. Possibly. Maybe we should build that real quick. What do you think? Well,

00:02:01:15 –> 00:02:05:21
On the fly, I guess this could, yeah, see where this goes. Build it on the fly. What’s the parameters?

00:02:05:21 –> 00:02:15:14
We had a Sheridan Chamberlain, good friend of ours here at Epic Outdoors, say, Hey, why don’t you come up with some kind of contest. I think he just, he wins fairly regular, like the Redmond contest. He,

00:02:15:15 –> 00:02:18:04
He probably already has a really good picture. Well, he just needs to enter

00:02:18:11 –> 00:02:23:03
And I think he really wants to, he really wanted to tell us what the price should be. But I didn’t, I didn’t

00:02:23:03 –> 00:02:23:06
Ask

00:02:23:06 –> 00:02:23:24
Him. I

00:02:23:24 –> 00:02:25:14
Didn’t ask him. What are you gonna give Jason? Well,

00:02:25:14 –> 00:02:31:11
I, what are we gonna give as a company? What are you guys think? We, I mean, we should do a tripod, right? Or maybe Or

00:02:31:11 –> 00:02:33:10
Trail cameras. Trail cameras. Obviously people use it. Mr.

00:02:33:22 –> 00:02:34:03
Trail

00:02:34:05 –> 00:02:39:00
Cams, brand new trail cameras to replace the ones you’re gonna steal between. They’re gonna get lost between them. You’re

00:02:39:00 –> 00:02:39:09
Gonna steal

00:02:39:18 –> 00:02:40:18
No that you’re

00:02:40:18 –> 00:02:40:22
Gonna get

00:02:40:22 –> 00:02:45:21
Stolen. That’s what I meant to say. Alright. Because everybody’s gonna need a few freshies going into 2026.

00:02:46:26 –> 00:02:57:02
You know? You know what might win the contest? I, so we asked him like, what, how should we build this? What do you want it to look like anyway? What might win is somebody getting a picture of a thief.

00:02:57:14 –> 00:03:02:10
Bucks, bulls, rams, and trucks. I like that. I think we, you could even have some categories, you know? Yeah.

00:03:02:26 –> 00:03:05:12
Okay, so let’s build it. Strange things. What

00:03:05:12 –> 00:03:07:03
Things? There’s a movie called, so we’re gonna

00:03:07:03 –> 00:03:08:16
Have a strange things contest.

00:03:08:18 –> 00:03:09:27
So like Alien Sasquatch.

00:03:10:06 –> 00:03:10:28
No. Naked people

00:03:11:12 –> 00:03:16:06
Don’t submit Naked people. No Powder River troughs with people in ’em. We don’t wanna see you. Okay.

00:03:16:27 –> 00:03:18:24
No dudes. No dudes taking

00:03:18:25 –> 00:03:25:03
A lead. I don’t care. Yeah, I don’t care what gender. Stranger. They’re a stranger things category. Strangers,

00:03:25:03 –> 00:03:27:21
Things a stranger. Okay. Got it.

00:03:27:21 –> 00:03:28:27
But keep it G and pg.

00:03:28:27 –> 00:03:35:24
Yeah. And then we gotta figure out a pri a winner. Like what does that prize look like? Okay. All right. So we got the Stranger things. What do you want? How about

00:03:36:00 –> 00:03:40:03
Your, your best? I don’t know. Your best picture, whatever that is. I don’t

00:03:40:03 –> 00:03:43:23
Know. Best pick. How about just best overall pick, right? Yeah.

00:03:44:21 –> 00:03:46:03
Whatever it is. Buck Bowl, Ram.

00:03:46:18 –> 00:03:54:23
Okay. And let’s, let’s do a little policing. If, if it’s somebody submits one that’s already been in another contest,

00:03:55:05 –> 00:03:59:10
Well how do we out? Should we just say that they need to be, have a date stamp on ’em from what The last

00:03:59:29 –> 00:04:01:25
Lamb based him on the podcast or something

00:04:01:25 –> 00:04:02:11
Like, or

00:04:02:11 –> 00:04:04:05
Self-police. I mean, people will turn ’em in and say,

00:04:04:15 –> 00:04:07:25
That one’s already won. Gotta You gotta have timestamp, huh?

00:04:08:12 –> 00:04:10:21
Original from this year? Yeah. 2025. Yeah,

00:04:10:25 –> 00:04:11:29
Exactly. Okay.

00:04:12:10 –> 00:04:16:15
So an original from 2020. This is what he’s thinking. Just do that. Well, I mean, since he brought it up.

00:04:16:15 –> 00:04:19:23
Hey, just do that. So you can’t pull out your greatest hits from two current,

00:04:19:23 –> 00:04:20:01
Current

00:04:20:01 –> 00:04:20:29
Year 2008.

00:04:21:02 –> 00:04:37:16
Yes. Any animal voted by our staff. A little more complicated. He says, could be western big game, deer, elk together, you know, monthly prize, a yearly grand prize, yada, yada. So I, there’s a couple ideas.

00:04:37:16 –> 00:04:46:29
Tough part about limiting it to just this year. I mean, who wants to give up their trail camera photos for this year kind of thing Already. Bad win. Who wants to, wants win? Who wants to win?

00:04:49:03 –> 00:04:51:24
14 eye guards. That’s gonna, that guy’s going bring,

00:04:52:05 –> 00:05:03:22
I think, I think we should say we could add 2024. Really? I don’t know. I’d like to see, so I don’t want, I wanna see, I’m sick of seeing just shanks right now. I wanna see a built, a built there or built buck.

00:05:03:26 –> 00:05:07:15
Seems like you did some scouting today in the Bulls. No, bulls were pretty well built.

00:05:07:22 –> 00:05:22:12
I didn’t see crap pretty well. I, I don’t wanna see, I don’t wanna see stubs. Such a liar. I don’t wanna see stubs. I just, I wanna see something built. Dude. I would say the strange things can be anytime. Well, I don’t know. Okay. Might have be that’s, you live the last 20 years. There’s

00:05:22:12 –> 00:05:25:21
I’ve got a coyote with a chicken in its mouth. Yeah, I wanna see that rooster.

00:05:25:25 –> 00:05:26:16
See, I wanna see that.

00:05:26:26 –> 00:05:30:29
Okay, I’ll, I’ll submit it. But I can’t win. We can’t win. Anybody here at the table can’t win cash.

00:05:31:26 –> 00:06:01:00
Come on. No, I got some cool stuff. I’ve, I’ve submitted my strange room before, but yeah, we should put some governance on there. Okay. Two years. Do that 1 24, 25. Okay. What, what if you do the strangers things one from 2020 to 2025. Do you got one from 2020 Cash? No. No. Just to give a window so you actually see some cool stuff. Yeah. ’cause otherwise mine like five submissions. Yeah, we’ll see them aliens, you know, or whatever. Spaceships, ghosts, squashes. So what year s the strange one could from 2024. 2020.

00:06:01:02 –> 00:06:01:27
2024.

00:06:02:08 –> 00:06:07:12
Okay. Just the last two. And what about deer, elk, buck Bull, REM Billy,

00:06:08:09 –> 00:06:08:19
Let’s

00:06:08:27 –> 00:06:12:11
Prickle. I say kind of the same. 24, 25. ’cause 24 20

00:06:12:11 –> 00:06:12:28
Five’s. Do the last

00:06:13:00 –> 00:06:14:10
Two years on everything. Okay.

00:06:14:10 –> 00:06:16:13
24, 25. And we’ll do

00:06:16:23 –> 00:06:17:21
Categories again.

00:06:17:21 –> 00:06:30:03
All western big game, right? Yeah. Yeah. So it’ll be, we’ll have an out category. A mild deer category. Antelope category. What? I don’t know. Just one. How many Kevin? Well dude,

00:06:30:07 –> 00:06:34:22
Then black Bear Cougar. No, we got, I mean I got some, we’ll

00:06:34:22 –> 00:06:36:16
Call it a predator category.

00:06:37:06 –> 00:06:43:23
Okay. You might get some cougars in the strangest thing. Mountain category Mountain. Come on. Mountain Lions. Paul.

00:06:44:10 –> 00:06:47:01
Hey, they are predators. They’re looking for Loki Bear’s wallet.

00:06:47:20 –> 00:06:48:23
Just lurk. I’ll let

00:06:49:07 –> 00:06:50:18
Reation and it’s fine.

00:06:52:05 –> 00:06:52:23
Chris. An

00:06:53:25 –> 00:06:57:05
They can spot a weak one a mile away. Logan. Logan.

00:06:57:10 –> 00:06:57:23
You’re

00:06:57:23 –> 00:06:57:29
Like a

00:06:57:29 –> 00:06:59:17
Spotted. I’m Gazelle Logan.

00:07:00:06 –> 00:07:01:27
No, you’re like a spotted fawn to them.

00:07:02:04 –> 00:07:04:25
You’re a spotted fawn. You have no chance.

00:07:05:09 –> 00:07:06:00
I might be okay with,

00:07:08:19 –> 00:07:15:24
That’s alright. Geez. Moving right along. Exactly. All. So a predator. And then I, who cares about antelope? Let’s just do elk and milder.

00:07:15:25 –> 00:07:17:04
You can just submit. And then

00:07:17:16 –> 00:07:18:25
Maybe the variety package.

00:07:19:10 –> 00:07:22:29
Antelope. Yeah. Western big game. Doose. Moose. Moose all into another one.

00:07:23:03 –> 00:07:23:19
And a variety.

00:07:24:02 –> 00:07:24:17
Variety.

00:07:25:03 –> 00:07:26:27
Okay. And then predator. So we have

00:07:27:16 –> 00:07:30:21
1, 2, 3 variety packages and a strange

00:07:30:27 –> 00:07:38:22
And a five packages. Stranger things. There we go. Stranger things. We got elk. One beer, one antelope and lumped in with all kinds of things in the

00:07:38:29 –> 00:07:43:06
Predator on the stranger things. Use nine seconds of the intro to that stuff. The, the stranger

00:07:43:18 –> 00:07:43:27
Show.

00:07:43:27 –> 00:07:46:07
When do you start kicking in on royalties, John? When you start

00:07:46:07 –> 00:07:47:17
15 seconds. 15.

00:07:47:18 –> 00:07:49:06
Okay. Yeah. Throw 14 on there.

00:07:49:19 –> 00:07:53:21
And then are we, are we voting on these pictures or are we gonna open it up for people to vote? No,

00:07:54:00 –> 00:07:57:19
I say we’re just us. Alright. This is the, now we’re talking Kings

00:07:58:03 –> 00:08:05:05
King stuff. Okay. Okay. We might have the kings, maybe the queens. We’ll have the queens. The queens are not, maybe

00:08:05:05 –> 00:08:07:00
They can do That’s true. They can do the

00:08:07:06 –> 00:08:08:13
We have the girls vote on everyone.

00:08:08:14 –> 00:08:09:17
Yeah, we’ll let ’em in. Yeah,

00:08:10:15 –> 00:08:10:25
We’ll

00:08:10:25 –> 00:08:14:24
Let ’em, our staff Let ’em in. No, let ’em, let ’em let ’em join us.

00:08:15:14 –> 00:08:18:28
It’ll clock out and then they can vote. Well,

00:08:19:12 –> 00:08:20:22
They do bring a different perspective,

00:08:21:00 –> 00:08:24:21
So for sure we love tease at have a very good stuff.

00:08:24:25 –> 00:08:29:21
Jason’s looking at split I guard. And they’re not even gonna notice that. No, they’re, they’re gonna notice the flowers in the

00:08:29:21 –> 00:08:45:05
Background. So let’s, let’s, let’s do mule deer here. Us guys, we’ll give them the predators and the variety. They can do the ll Later guys will vote elk, deer and stranger girls will vote. The variety and the predator. Sound good? I

00:08:45:05 –> 00:08:48:03
Like it. Might have a, so with Cubs on there, they’ll vote for that. I guarantee

00:08:48:03 –> 00:08:48:06
It.

00:08:48:18 –> 00:08:50:16
How are they, how are they gonna submit these?

00:08:50:24 –> 00:08:52:11
A prickle of porcupines through.

00:08:52:11 –> 00:09:17:07
Alright, so why don’t you, that’s for you to decide. Logan. How do you want, want ’em submitted? DM it to us on Instagram. Okay. You gotta let us know. Epic underscore hunts. Yep. Epic underscore hunts. Let us know. Okay. Go to optics or something. Other Instagram of ours do the, do the epic underscore hunts. So, ’cause we don’t check that one super often. Send all the weird weird stuff to Josh though. Josh. I’ll go through that. Josh. He’ll, he’ll be the initial

00:09:17:29 –> 00:09:19:21
Filtering onset hot

00:09:19:21 –> 00:09:54:05
Milk. Just hit send please send the weird ones. I’ll judge that category. Duck right there. Aw duck. Alright. Okay, so anyway, we’ve got five categories. And then what are the prizes? What are we gonna do? I would think maybe like an all time, like an all overall winner. Maybe they get the tripod because that the, the quick release tripod Ultra is bad. A even if you got one on our old ones, you won the new one. The overall winner would be an ultra. Yeah. Just all categories.

00:09:54:05 –> 00:09:56:21
Maybe some window mounts and then some cameras or something too

00:09:56:21 –> 00:09:58:13
There. Yeah. Cameras and stuff for the other categories

00:09:58:13 –> 00:10:00:09
There, you splattering, stuff like that. And,

00:10:00:09 –> 00:10:08:06
And maybe we’ll put it, where are we gonna post what the prizes are when we figure it out? Let’s just do two cams per category. Like one cam’s. Nothing.

00:10:08:29 –> 00:10:10:04
I mean, couple cameras.

00:10:10:16 –> 00:10:27:19
You gotta have one camera and then one facing that camera to catch the poacher in this thief. That’s right. You know? Yeah. If you’re a thief, you’re probably a poacher too. Yeah, I just, oh yeah. Kind of feels that way. I’ve got mine set up to catch. Okay, double. All right. So we got two cameras. Catch a predator and partridge and a pear tree

00:10:27:25 –> 00:10:28:12
Is the thief.

00:10:28:15 –> 00:10:30:21
We got two cameras and a window mount. Something

00:10:30:21 –> 00:10:34:23
Like Is the, is the, is the wall of shame category a separate category? Is that thrown to the other?

00:10:35:04 –> 00:10:41:23
Oh Hmm. I love a wall of shame category. Oh my gosh, dude, I, that one would get my vote. Let’s do it. What do you want?

00:10:42:05 –> 00:10:43:07
Separate category? What

00:10:43:07 –> 00:10:43:22
Do you, what do you,

00:10:44:07 –> 00:10:45:27
But here’s, here’s parameters

00:10:46:12 –> 00:10:49:09
Got six. We got, we got the overall winner and then we got each

00:10:49:19 –> 00:11:07:04
Category. But I’m just thinking out loud. I’m just saying Jason, sometimes you, I, we all walk in front of somebody’s camera. You’re not the one that steals it, but they got your picture and they now wanna shame you. ’cause this guy was on my camera and then when I went back, it was gone. And you’re not the one that took it. How do you prove that that guy actually was a thief?

00:11:07:12 –> 00:11:16:03
Well, if they have, if they have a grinder in their hand Okay. And that our camera was on, and then the camera was off and the guy walks away with a grinder.

00:11:16:07 –> 00:11:18:04
Okay. It better be good proof.

00:11:18:04 –> 00:11:19:05
Or it’s on video. I, because

00:11:19:05 –> 00:11:25:07
Otherwise I don’t wanna shame somebody. ’cause you know, some of these waters have 10 cameras out there. Yeah. And you’re get, we all get on cameras.

00:11:25:07 –> 00:11:29:29
You’re picking up your own camera and they’re assuming it’s their buddy’s camera. Yep. And you, because he had the red lock. Exactly.

00:11:30:22 –> 00:11:39:21
And turns out your camera, you lock too. Your camera’s stolen and theirs. So I just, I wanna be careful not shaming somebody that, that has just got walked by a camera.

00:11:39:25 –> 00:11:58:00
If we need to shame somebody, send ’em in. We’ll we’ll do it. And that’s, that’s, hey, that’s, that’s prize enough. That’s good enough. We got six categories, guys. We got an overall predator, variety pack, elk, deer, and strange things. Josh, you can believe. Vote the strange things. Of

00:11:58:00 –> 00:12:01:03
Course that goes without saying. We didn’t even mean to ask if

00:12:01:03 –> 00:12:10:29
It judge that way. Son of a gun right there. Mind works in weird ways. Hey, love. You can’t beat Josh when you’re trying to one up him. You can’t beat him.

00:12:11:09 –> 00:12:12:12
Always sure you can’t

00:12:13:17 –> 00:12:25:11
Catch ’em in a weak moment. Let’s pause for a sec. Are we missing out on, on people interaction? If we’re, you know, maybe we have like a people’s choice or something and they vote as well.

00:12:25:24 –> 00:12:28:13
We like the overall be people’s choice on

00:12:28:19 –> 00:12:31:05
That website that you built where people can vote.

00:12:31:09 –> 00:12:34:07
Why don’t we pick a winner from every, the winner out this, you know what

00:12:34:07 –> 00:12:34:25
I mean? Each category

00:12:35:00 –> 00:12:35:23
Goes to pick

00:12:35:23 –> 00:12:36:17
Overall and then they vote on

00:12:37:02 –> 00:12:40:23
And they vote on the sixth. Then those are the six finalists overall. There you

00:12:40:23 –> 00:12:49:09
Go. If that’s already built, then you know the ability to do it. Then we might as well. And then have ’em vote as many times as they want. I don’t know. Okay.

00:12:50:01 –> 00:12:53:11
Do we want have them post it on their social media and then tag us though

00:12:53:13 –> 00:13:00:13
Too? DM us if they post it. Sometimes it, it doesn’t show up for us. So I would say if DM us, if you wanna be in it for sure,

00:13:00:20 –> 00:13:03:25
We could do like a DM us and then we could fill up our stories with them and

00:13:03:25 –> 00:13:05:12
Stuff. Yeah. We’ll post ’em on our stories with

00:13:05:14 –> 00:13:06:15
All of them. Yeah. So

00:13:06:15 –> 00:13:07:01
People can, we’ll pull

00:13:07:09 –> 00:13:13:25
Up. All right. So when you send ’em in, we’ll tag you in a story storyline. That’s awesome too. Cameras.

00:13:14:00 –> 00:13:16:05
And then when we’re ready to vote on the overall, we’ll tell you where to go.

00:13:16:13 –> 00:13:17:24
All right. Can, can we win?

00:13:18:15 –> 00:13:19:27
No. Nope.

00:13:19:28 –> 00:13:24:22
Jason already shot me down. I was getting excited to go put some cameras out in some weird places. Logan’s

00:13:24:22 –> 00:13:29:23
Gonna, was gonna get, Logan’s gonna get a cougar following him. Still. That’s prize enough.

00:13:30:01 –> 00:13:31:09
I can’t, that is the prize. Mess with it.

00:13:32:00 –> 00:13:35:29
I’ve got a way. I’ve got a way. I’ve got a way. Nevermind. All right. I’m just gonna play the game.

00:13:37:24 –> 00:13:49:13
Okay. Later. What? Later He’s gonna use an alias to submit. Becky submitted this and probably technically by the rule, like, has Becky ever ever checked a trail camera?

00:13:49:21 –> 00:13:56:00
She likes ’em round the yard. When golfers look for balls in our backyard, she likes to know who’s, who’s

00:13:56:02 –> 00:13:57:09
Who took my propane bottle.

00:13:57:12 –> 00:13:59:29
Who’s perusing around in the gravel in the backyard. I,

00:14:00:25 –> 00:14:03:10
I’ve this golfers are weird dudes. Yeah.

00:14:03:15 –> 00:14:06:21
Badham, Badham, Aronson submitted this photo.

00:14:08:27 –> 00:14:09:12
Alright.

00:14:09:24 –> 00:14:12:18
Some stuff needs to be seen by the world. Yeah.

00:14:13:01 –> 00:14:17:22
Okay. Alright, so let’s talk. We’re giving away some hunts here shortly. Fellas. What?

00:14:17:22 –> 00:14:21:00
What’s the deadline for this? We gotta throw some parameters. Is this the, oh, August.

00:14:21:00 –> 00:14:21:23
Finish the trail

00:14:21:23 –> 00:14:23:05
Cam. August one. The

00:14:23:05 –> 00:14:23:15
Trail camera

00:14:23:27 –> 00:14:24:28
It by August one. Well,

00:14:25:05 –> 00:14:27:09
I mean, yeah, I mean, yeah. Gotta

00:14:28:16 –> 00:14:29:03
25.

00:14:29:07 –> 00:14:31:28
That’s when everything should be down. Let’s just do that. Let’s, let’s

00:14:31:28 –> 00:14:33:03
Dive. You gotta be turned by then

00:14:33:03 –> 00:14:42:23
You gotta go through. Yeah, you gotta go through ’em. Let’s do August 15th. August 5th. Fifth. You know what’s on their camera by the fifth. Okay. You’ve got piles of cards on the 31st or first?

00:14:42:25 –> 00:14:44:06
Okay, well, whatever. Fifth.

00:14:44:24 –> 00:14:59:27
Fifth. August 5th. August one. August five. Okay. All right. Alright, moving right along. Are we good? Yeah, we’re good. Okay. So we’re giving away some hunts. Bronson, we’re gonna do this June 23rd. Yeah, we’re giving away, coming down a grindle of hunts

00:14:59:29 –> 00:15:01:16
Last five or six days. Is it?

00:15:01:24 –> 00:15:16:25
Okay, so we’ve got Mexico Desert sheep, Alaska Moose, New Mexico, elk, Nevada Elk, Nevada, deer, Alberta, white Tail. Josh, you’re excited about that? Absolutely. Of course we’ve got guys submitting tickets just for that Spend time with the

00:15:16:25 –> 00:15:17:22
Bike. Not surprised.

00:15:19:28 –> 00:15:21:25
I’m pretty sure it’s all about the white tail. But hey,

00:15:22:03 –> 00:15:24:11
I snore and I don’t shower so things can get weird.

00:15:25:16 –> 00:15:37:23
Of course stranger things have happen, right? But I’ll Alberta Wolf gear package and a bonus just $15,000 toward the hunt winners. A hundred choice. Choice. Yeah. The winter

00:15:37:23 –> 00:15:39:29
Choice that when you get talk to dev and make dreams come true.

00:15:40:13 –> 00:15:43:03
So for this week’s giveaway B Bronson, what are we giving away?

00:15:43:23 –> 00:15:57:29
Yeah, we’ve been doing weeklys this year just as something fun. I don’t know why. Just ’cause we wanted to give away a few guns. We give away a Hoy RX nine. We give away A-C-V-A-L-R-X or MRXI can’t remember which LRX

00:15:58:10 –> 00:15:58:29
El range.

00:15:59:01 –> 00:16:30:04
Give a EL range. And we gave a a fierce bolt action rifle. So this week we’re gonna give a fierce mountain reaper in your caliber of choice. So yeah, if you buy tickets between now and the night of the 1159 on the 23rd, you’ll be entered in for that. You gotta buy $125 ticket package or higher. You get multiple entries for different packages above that. But minimum 1 25 entry, you get entered in just a weekly drawing. So yeah, fierce Mountain Reaper appreciate fierce. They’ve been a great support of ours here to pick outdoors. And we’re also a dealer of course. So we got,

00:16:30:14 –> 00:16:35:05
We can, we got guns of epic proportions. Speaking of to get rid of guns.

00:16:35:12 –> 00:16:35:21
Yeah,

00:16:35:28 –> 00:16:47:10
But let’s talk about Josh. Josh this new Mountain Reaper. Oh yeah. Heard. Well you were like the first guy, guy that stole it off the shelf. Kind of frustrated Devin a little bit. Why does he have to have be the first everything

00:16:47:10 –> 00:16:49:07
We do? Why, why are you guys surprised? Still

00:16:51:09 –> 00:17:02:06
Should be a surprise to anyone in this room. Interesting. I just find it interesting how this rifle in ended up at your house in the name of your wife. But no, there’s, we all know this there. No,

00:17:02:18 –> 00:17:06:03
There’s two of them. There’s two of them. There’s a his and hers. His and hers. That’s right.

00:17:07:01 –> 00:17:08:17
Remember I thought you said you

00:17:09:04 –> 00:17:09:25
One had a length

00:17:09:25 –> 00:17:10:21
Of bull track

00:17:10:21 –> 00:17:17:07
Modification. Greatly. Yeah. One of ’em, we had to, from the Viking to Mrs. Viking, it was a definitely a different gun. The un viking,

00:17:17:07 –> 00:17:20:09
Nobody can, nobody can compete with this guy. You

00:17:20:09 –> 00:17:29:00
Got two of them now. I I do. You’re looking for scopes now? I I own one and she owns one. They’re not both in my name or her name. They’re separate names.

00:17:30:03 –> 00:17:33:12
Separate. And I actually run the background throw throw ’em under the bed. Yeah.

00:17:33:14 –> 00:17:50:27
My What did you get? What calibers did you get? We got hers. She, she actually has an, she, she actually, she has an elk tag this year. So we need something a little larger caliber but not too large. So what’d you send along? Seven PRC.

00:17:51:15 –> 00:17:51:24
Okay.

00:17:52:10 –> 00:17:57:13
I like it. So that’s what, that’s what hers is. So we got hers, which she just to length the pull on her stock Yeah. Fits her. Like a

00:17:57:28 –> 00:18:00:05
Get that’s a do all you can kill about anything with that.

00:18:00:12 –> 00:18:02:13
Yeah, that’s kind of what we figured. It’s just a good,

00:18:03:00 –> 00:18:06:15
It’s a brown bear with seven a seven Remington

00:18:06:25 –> 00:18:13:10
Millimeter. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So it’s good. So we got that one. I got that one in the dis distressed gray color. Just so that there’s no, didn’t

00:18:13:10 –> 00:18:16:23
Guys kill loose with the seven too. Yeah, yeah. It’s legit.

00:18:17:20 –> 00:18:45:25
What, what did you get for yours and what intended purpose this year? It was a distressed tan color. So it could be a little bit distinguished from hers. And I may need to kill a sheep, I suppose. Yeah. What caliber Sheep once in my cream more. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We ought to touch on these aren’t just your normal rifles. These are chassis rifles with folding stalks. I mean they’re, they’re pretty cool. Yeah, yeah. Really, really lightweight too. That’s the thing that’s nice about ’em. Gonna be packing them

00:18:46:10 –> 00:18:50:01
And stuff. They shoot, they shoot like crazy. At least it is a gut, it’s a

00:18:50:08 –> 00:19:35:24
Good option for youth and ladies too. ’cause they, yeah, they, they cut the stock down in what it was like a week. Yeah, it showed up in like a week and a half essentially. I mean, I don’t build the guns, I don’t understand it. But essentially there’s kind of a a, a tube I guess that goes into the back of that, into that stalk or it folds. Got it. And they can adjust the length of pole on that by just doing it. It would sounded like it was fairly simple because we were trying to decide, you know, getting our, one of the like rogue mini rogues. But I didn’t love the calibers that some of those come in ’cause they have to come in short action. And I, I really liked the seven PRC and so we wanted something a little bigger but not as big as a 300. So yeah, we went and went with the seven PRC and they did that and so it was pretty awesome. We actually had ’em both out last night. There’s, everything’s good. You mean

00:19:35:24 –> 00:19:36:01
That

00:19:36:16 –> 00:19:38:12
Together? Both out laid out there.

00:19:38:25 –> 00:19:40:13
Wow. Did you shoot ’em? No,

00:19:40:26 –> 00:19:46:12
No. Just ran. Just looking down the barrel a little bit. Barrel. Yeah, just ran the bolt. She told me her, her bolt feels better than mine.

00:19:47:13 –> 00:19:47:21
Yeah,

00:19:47:21 –> 00:19:50:22
She says better. Don’t let her think otherwise sir, you’re gonna have problems.

00:19:50:22 –> 00:19:51:24
Exactly. So you’re right,

00:19:52:08 –> 00:19:57:11
You’re right. She got a zinger. Yes ma’am. So yeah, we, we own two of ’em. They’re pretty awesome. I’m excited to get ’em scoped up and get ’em shot.

00:19:57:26 –> 00:19:59:13
Are you gonna put suppressors on ’em?

00:19:59:29 –> 00:20:01:27
Yeah, those are, should be here today

00:20:02:05 –> 00:20:08:28
Actually. Well that’s pretty nice. That folding stock is nice because if you put a suppressor on it, it’s not folded, you know 16 foot long stick

00:20:08:29 –> 00:20:19:25
Rifle stick. Yeah. We got 20 inch barrels on both of ’em as well. So even if you know, gonna throw, put like a five and a half inch suppressor on ’em. So it’s still not gonna be a big huge long barrel either. Yeah,

00:20:20:28 –> 00:20:21:19
I like it. It’s,

00:20:21:24 –> 00:20:29:10
We got some other guns here. DJ DJ’s gun shop we’ve kind of put together here. Do you guys want to take, take some time to talk about what we got ready to

00:20:30:00 –> 00:20:34:18
D Jay Jay’s gonna let D talk about DJ’s gun. Come on. Guns that we put together,

00:20:35:09 –> 00:20:39:03
We put ’em together. I can’t believe nobody has taken that either one of them

00:20:39:13 –> 00:20:40:22
Six, five and a seven. If I

00:20:40:22 –> 00:20:41:17
Didn’t already have five,

00:20:41:18 –> 00:20:43:10
Six I all, it took the six five,

00:20:43:16 –> 00:20:50:09
I would buy it. It’s a shoot and sucker. They both are. Oh man. We have video of it, but yeah, they’re dialed zero set up ready

00:20:50:09 –> 00:20:52:21
To go. Cherry five boxes of ammo. These

00:20:52:21 –> 00:20:54:12
Are fierce If you want, you don’t have to do the ammo

00:20:54:13 –> 00:20:55:27
Rage. Devin don’t buy it.

00:20:56:00 –> 00:20:57:03
Doesn’t matter You don’t to

00:20:57:05 –> 00:20:57:13
They

00:20:57:13 –> 00:21:07:09
Fierce rages rage. A twisted rage and a seven PRC and then a Is it a Ct? CCG rage and a six five PRC. Yeah. And one of them has

00:21:08:00 –> 00:21:08:04
A

00:21:08:11 –> 00:21:08:22
Z five

00:21:08:25 –> 00:21:10:00
IZ five I swirl.

00:21:10:09 –> 00:21:10:16
I don’t

00:21:10:19 –> 00:21:11:12
Remember which one. Six five.

00:21:12:24 –> 00:21:14:00
So you guys, what you guys took

00:21:14:00 –> 00:21:20:27
These guns mounted the scopes on ’em, went out, zeroed ’em, zeroed chronograph on chronograph dope. Threw em dope.

00:21:21:01 –> 00:21:21:10
Yeah,

00:21:22:02 –> 00:21:22:12
Chron

00:21:22:12 –> 00:21:22:25
Everything.

00:21:23:03 –> 00:21:26:09
Shot it out to them, ’em out, him out to eight 40. I

00:21:26:09 –> 00:21:32:25
Believe that’s, there’s a, there’s probably a piece of paper in there signed by one or both of you. Probably both. A hat D and j,

00:21:33:04 –> 00:21:35:10
A hat maybe D’s gun service

00:21:35:14 –> 00:21:39:23
Quality checked by DJ. But you what? You got feet.

00:21:40:09 –> 00:21:47:22
I’m just saying if I’m putting a gun together, D’s checking it out. Well if Dee’s putting it together, I’m inserting myself as part of the process. Yeah, that’s

00:21:47:22 –> 00:21:48:10
Right. But

00:21:48:12 –> 00:21:49:17
He, he doesn’t need them. These

00:21:49:17 –> 00:21:49:29
Aren’t just,

00:21:50:03 –> 00:21:50:17
But I’m gonna

00:21:50:17 –> 00:21:56:24
Be there foresighted is what I mean, you’ve, you’ve chrono them, you’ve threw ’em in your rangefinder. You have all that stuff in there for

00:21:56:24 –> 00:22:06:23
Both of them. These through probably 15, 18 rounds through each one. Yeah. By the time start to finish. I mean they’re cherry new guns. Yes. ’em start to finish, they’re ready to, they’re either gonna out the door you kill, they’re

00:22:06:23 –> 00:22:07:11
Ready to hunt, kill

00:22:07:20 –> 00:22:12:04
Right now. Yeah, it’s like Dee said, he’s like, you’d kill something right now. You hunt with this right now.

00:22:12:13 –> 00:22:13:10
I would hunt with it tomorrow.

00:22:13:27 –> 00:22:14:06
Yeah.

00:22:14:19 –> 00:22:15:01
Both of

00:22:15:01 –> 00:22:27:18
Them. Yep. They’re gonna work. Awesome. Pretty fun. So anyway, lots of options here at Epic Outdoors. Alright, let’s, let’s call Bob McCormick. So Bob, let’s maybe set the stage there. Bronson, you’ve been down there. Yeah,

00:22:28:10 –> 00:23:13:16
We we’ve, we’ve had this ranch opportunity for a lot of our epic outdoors clients that are looking for desert sheet hunts that are free range, you know, real, real desert sheet punts that, you know, can’t draw a tag tag in the Lord. 48 states need a desert. I’ve had a lot of guys go down there with Roberto. I’ve been down there myself. Great place. I assure you there’s no captive fans of any kind for sheep, deer, anything. There’s no fences, no captive animals at all. It’s legit. Great place, great combinations. It’s, he owns it all himself. It’s, you know, been in his family. So a lot of sheep and yeah, Bob actually last year, I think he got talking to Jason first and Jason kind of helped you through the booking process. He’s getting older, I don’t know how old he is. 80 something Jason

00:23:14:01 –> 00:23:16:17
Eighties. Well I don’t wanna ask him out loud, but I think it’s like

00:23:16:17 –> 00:23:24:07
85. Yeah, but I mean the point is he needs a desert sheep. Yeah. He needs the one he is not gonna draw. And it’s, you know, he probably needed one 10 years ago. But he finally decided

00:23:24:07 –> 00:23:28:06
And do it and he, and he learned how to use WhatsApp. ’cause that’s what you do from

00:23:28:06 –> 00:23:28:28
International

00:23:29:16 –> 00:23:41:15
US Mexico and Yeah. And Roberto’s great at that. And I mean, between the group texting on very aggressive, regular basis, we got him down there and he killed a gray round. Yeah,

00:23:42:00 –> 00:23:48:29
Absolutely. And part of the reason we want to talk about this is this is the exact hunt we’re giving away in our membership drive right now for this next

00:23:49:05 –> 00:23:51:06
February. And he, and he killed this ram in February. He

00:23:51:06 –> 00:24:02:12
Killed it last February. And we’re giving a hunt for this next February. I’m gonna go down there with him for the winter just to have fun, fun and the hopeful sun be awesome. And yeah, so this you very hunt. We’re giving away. Yeah.

00:24:02:16 –> 00:24:07:07
And I was gonna say, Ty speaks Spanish all of No, you don’t even need it. Like, like don’t, Roberto speaks English

00:24:07:07 –> 00:24:11:03
So he does, but he’s gonna come down. He’s fine. Fun. He takes Ty down there.

00:24:11:14 –> 00:24:12:12
So awesome. So

00:24:12:12 –> 00:24:16:27
Awesome. Have fun. So yeah, let’s call Bob and can talk with you about, you know, the hunt killed the great round. Okay.

00:24:26:26 –> 00:24:27:11
Good morning,

00:24:28:05 –> 00:24:28:25
Bob, you there?

00:24:29:23 –> 00:24:30:02
I am

00:24:30:17 –> 00:24:34:24
Jason Carter here with the Epic Outdoors podcast. Of course. We got the whole crew sitting here.

00:24:34:25 –> 00:24:35:25
How’s, how’s it going Bob?

00:24:36:27 –> 00:24:37:15
I’m doing good.

00:24:39:07 –> 00:25:06:09
Well, we just wanted to kind of get the story from your hunt. You’re, you went on a desert sheep hunt there with Roberto through Epic Outdoors and anyway, had a, had a great experience and this is the exact hunt that we’re giving away here next week. So on June 23rd, we kind of close up the epic hunt giveaway and this is, you know, one of the main prizes. And so anyway, just kind of wanted to hear from your perspective how this hunt went down. Yeah,

00:25:06:28 –> 00:25:16:18
It was, I’ve been on some fantastic sheep hunts, but that was the one with Roberto was super great. It gets a five star rating.

00:25:17:18 –> 00:25:25:03
That’s great. Well, and remind me, did you take, was it your son or grandson down there? Or both? I can’t remember who you took with you.

00:25:25:25 –> 00:25:45:15
I took, I took my grandson. I lost my son a long time ago, so he used to be my partner. But anyway, I lost him. So now I’ve, I I, this is my actually my step grandson and, but I love him dearly and he and I are best friends.

00:25:46:01 –> 00:26:10:19
Well, that’s awesome. Well, I’m sure he enjoyed it too. So yeah, tell us just a little bit about, I mean, you fly in Herma Seal and, and head to the ranch, just kind of take it kind of, kind of set, you know, for people that may be interested. We, we can say it, you know, all we want that this is legit and a great place and all that. But we thought we’d get your perspective on from the time you got there and got set up at the ranch house and then, you know, take us something a little bit. How did, how’d it go? Yeah, let’s hear

00:26:10:19 –> 00:26:11:01
It. Well,

00:26:11:04 –> 00:26:53:28
We in order so we wouldn’t be late. And with going through customs, we went a day early and spent the night in Phoenix and got to the airport three hours early and cleared customs. So we had plenty of time. And then we got to Herma Seal and, and they, even though Roberto had all the paperwork for my permit to get into my rifle into Mexico, they couldn’t find the papers. And so we had a little hangup and, and they kept wanting me to call Roberto and Roberto only text. And he was just across through a glass door through the

00:26:53:28 –> 00:26:58:24
Wall. He’s like, let’s call it 73 yards. Yeah. You know, it’s just right there, whatever.

00:26:59:09 –> 00:27:22:05
And he didn’t answer his phone. And so anyway, finally the supervisor of the security down there, he had a whole package of papers and of course mine was in there. Hmm. He just couldn’t find it at first. So there you go. Anyway, and I, I won’t bribe nobody. So

00:27:22:25 –> 00:27:24:12
Yeah, well they found it.

00:27:25:18 –> 00:28:19:21
He found her and then we went through and Roberto and, and I can’t remember the cook was with him and boy I was instant, you know, greetings and, and we had baseball hats and, and new baseball hats with Roberto’s logo on ’em and just instantaneously, you know, and so we were off and running and, and it’s two hours driving out to the ranch. And so we finally got to the gate, you get to the ranch and it’s just absolutely wonderful place, you know, nice and clean and, and they even take lawn rakes and rake the sand I think every day to in case there’s something on there Yeah. That they take really good care of.

00:28:19:21 –> 00:28:20:21
Sounds like a golf course.

00:28:21:05 –> 00:28:36:15
Yeah. Yeah. He’s got a, and Grayson’s brother looked us up via satellite and he said, you guys got five swimming pools and what he was seeing is their water storage for the cattle.

00:28:39:00 –> 00:28:40:23
Yeah. Or you could take a swim if you want.

00:28:41:21 –> 00:28:45:09
Hey, we’ve done it. Who hasn’t been in a trough before out in Nevada.

00:28:46:11 –> 00:29:56:29
Right. And anyway, they, they were great big concrete things, you know, full of water and, and from the satellite they look like swimming pools, but Mm. Anyway, he’s got like 48,000 acres of ground and, and this mountains thing where the sheep are, are on his property. So he, he has a very, very good operation. And we saw sheep every day. Wow. And it just, you know, wasn’t the right one or this wind was blowing wrong or, you know, something was going on. And so anyway, that we were, you know, continually entertained. And my grandson got to where he could find them just as good as the guides, but, and found he, he found one that nobody ever found except he and I saw it. And, but it was like thousand plus yards out there or something. And we had, we bought a phone scope before we left and so we put ’em on my 15 by 56 Leicas.

00:29:57:01 –> 00:30:53:00
And I got some really good phone scope pictures at a long range of sheep moving around over on the hillside. So it was pretty, it’s pretty cool. I can look at those anytime I want. But anyway, on the third day they found one in the morning, and so the ranch hands did, and they become spotters during hunting season and so there’s five of ’em. And so anyway, we went down to where they were located and found the sheep and I decided it was good enough. And so we went for a stock, but we were on the desert floor and the sheep was up on the, we got over close to the, you know, where starts rising. And I laid down and tried to shoot uphill and it is a horrible position. That’s very hard.

00:30:53:13 –> 00:30:53:29
Terrible. Yeah.

00:30:54:06 –> 00:32:01:29
That position I missed, I missed twice. And one of them, you can see on the phone scope, the bullet just was like two inches over its shoulder. So that was kind of neat watching the, watching your bullet in slow motion. And so anyway, then of course every day we had to take a siesta in the middle of the day. So after our stock and a siesta, we went back to our original spot. And since we hadn’t spotted anything in the morning, I wasn’t really excited. And so we were sitting there for a half an hour or so and glassing the mountains. And, and then I heard Roberto and, and Juan, our, my 81-year-old guy, you could tell things. They were speaking in Spanish and I could tell they were getting excited. So I went around to the other side of the bush that I was glassing from and, and here’s two sheep up on the up a side canyon.

00:32:02:28 –> 00:33:11:03
And so anyway, one of them was the one I got that, anyway, it was so Juan and, and Gabriel, which is Roberto’s son, and Grayson and I took off and it was like 900 yards over to where the sheep was. And so we went 700 and of course as soon as you get off the desert floor, you start climbing through all this garbage and everything down there has thorns. Yeah. Except one, one kind of tree tree. And anyway, oh, and then I’ll back up here. They haven’t had a drop of rain in two years and when they do get grain rain, it’s, it’s like flash floods. And so there’s these previous flash floods came down the mountain and, and there’s empty creek beds there, which is big boulders. And you climb over the big boulders and then through the creek, dry creek bed and up the other side across the boulders and back on the side of the mountain, and then you come to another one.

00:33:11:18 –> 00:34:37:09
And so we were fighting our way up through there and, and finally we got within about a couple hundred yards of the sheep. And anyway, I found one of those trees that has no thorns on it. And so we got all set up and, and Grayson put his backpack in the crotch of the tree to get me up a little bit more and something soft to bed the gun in. And anyway, the wind was blowing sideways, quite fiercely and the tree was shaking. But anyway, my first shot was a, a non-lethal shot, but it was a hit. I heard it smack, but, and then the sheep disappeared and the next thing you know, he is up on top of a great big knob and all you can see is his head and neck. And he’s just looking at us and we are looking at him. And so then finally we moved, we had to change locations three times, I think it was before we found him again. And then I found another one of those non thorny trees and, and got all set up. And anyway, I couldn’t see the sheep at first. Grayson found him and had to describe which cactus he was hiding behind. The

00:34:37:09 –> 00:34:39:07
Green one. The green one, well

00:34:39:28 –> 00:35:42:01
The, the green one. But there was one, one that was a, you know, just a solo tree sticking up and then it had an arm sticking out the side of it, up, you know, 20 feet or so. And then there was a bushy one, and those bushy ones are the ones the sheep eat for their water. And so anyway, he finally guided me to where the sheep was and, and I got all set up and, and so I tried to time it between wind gust and everything else. And so finally I had Grayson hang onto the limb to keep it from moving. And then he plugged his ear and then put his, held his binoculars, my binoculars with his other hand. And I pulled the trigger finally and I went to put another bullet in, worked the bolt and Jason says, no need. He said, I saw him drop straight down and he says, and he kicked a couple times and rolled down the hill. So

00:35:42:15 –> 00:35:43:05
That’s awesome.

00:35:43:13 –> 00:35:43:25
Oh good.

00:35:44:06 –> 00:35:44:22
That’s great.

00:35:45:16 –> 00:36:56:28
So we headed that way, and of course Roberto and some others were watching us from down at the truck. And so anyway, we made it about a hundred yards further up the hill mountain, whatever you wanna call it. And anyway, we found a rock that it was a piece out of it and it was a absolute chair at a back seat. Everything he, Ian finally says, sit down. And so he, I sat down and just moments later, here come Carlos and, and the spot and crew and they ra raced right by us and they, they had another a hundred yards to go and pretty soon here come the sheep down the mountain and there was four guys each holding a leg up, you know, the sheep was upside down and the head was on the fifth guy’s shoulders and here they come and they packed the whole thing right down there and posed him in that spot that Grayson cleaned out. And then that’s where all the pictures were taken. But

00:36:57:29 –> 00:37:02:12
Anyway, can’t beat that. That’s service right there. Pretty, that’s my kind of hunt right there.

00:37:03:02 –> 00:37:24:24
Right. Yeah. And then they, Carlos wanted to know, you know, he couldn’t speak English and I can’t speak Spanish. So he, I, I got the message, he wanted to know how far I wa how much cape I wanted. So I took my walking stick and marked a spot back behind his shoulders. And supposedly that’s what I’ve got coming.

00:37:26:25 –> 00:37:30:26
You do have it coming right? I got the message. It’s on, it’s on the way. Yeah,

00:37:31:27 –> 00:37:36:20
It said a week or two and, and we’ll, we’ll, well into the second week. So

00:37:36:24 –> 00:37:37:15
Yeah. Great.

00:37:38:15 –> 00:37:42:12
I should be hearing something soon. He said two or three weeks. So,

00:37:42:18 –> 00:37:50:14
So Bob, this, didn’t this ram end up being bigger than the one you initially missed? It was just kind of interesting how this kind of turned out the way it did.

00:37:51:10 –> 00:38:14:16
Yes. The, the second ram was quite a bit bigger than the first ram and there was nothing wrong with the first one and this one here between the horns, you can’t get your finger between the horns that is, that’s close and they are broomed off, but they are, they were 16 and a half inches around the bases.

00:38:15:17 –> 00:38:21:04
That’s heavy. Yeah. Yeah. So, and he, he ended up, isn’t he right there or close to book, isn’t he?

00:38:21:29 –> 00:38:33:27
Well I, Roberto thinks he’s 168 or 169, but we’ll find out here when he gets to my taxidermist in Reno. Yeah.

00:38:34:03 –> 00:38:34:12
Yeah.

00:38:34:12 –> 00:38:42:11
And he’s supposed to get him measured and scored and everything as soon as he gets him, but that’s a few days off yet,

00:38:43:01 –> 00:38:54:09
So That’s awesome. Well, so you made it off the mountain. Tell tell everybody how, how’d they take care of you. I remember the food from when I’ve been down there, Roberto, and I love Mexican food and it’s authentic. It’s

00:38:54:09 –> 00:38:55:04
As found as

00:38:55:04 –> 00:39:00:19
Good as you get. Yeah, yeah. I’m looking forward to going down with this hunt winner. Tell us about that and how they took care of you there.

00:39:01:28 –> 00:39:03:09
We each gained five pounds.

00:39:04:14 –> 00:39:10:24
That’s hard to do. Tortillas, I don’t know, beans and tortillas. Yeah. That’s awesome. Yeah.

00:39:10:29 –> 00:40:06:28
Yeah, we ate sweet meat two times and then they, they sliced up the tenderloins and made jerky and that came home with me and I ate every, well my gr my Grayson’s wife ate a piece or two and I think Grayson ate a piece and I ate all the rest and it was good. But no, the, the, the ranch, your, your place where you sleep, you know, your bungalow, whatever you wanna call it, it’s just fantastic. Everything’s clean and nice. And the, they would ask you if you wanted to shower when you were eating dinner and if you did the, the water tank is only like a 15 gallon water tank, but there’s a hole underneath of it and they just start a little fire and then the hot water up.

00:40:07:20 –> 00:40:09:09
Yeah. Yep, I’ve done it. It’s

00:40:09:09 –> 00:40:10:00
What they do in Mexico.

00:40:10:06 –> 00:40:10:15
Yeah,

00:40:10:24 –> 00:40:12:11
The remote stuff. Yep. There’s no,

00:40:13:06 –> 00:40:25:18
Yeah, it, it’s fantastic. And I just want you to know that the other day I bought a ticket for the sheep hunt. I got one ticket in there for the sheep hunt.

00:40:26:09 –> 00:40:30:29
Well that’s, if you win you’re probably gonna frustrate some people, Bob. Well

00:40:31:15 –> 00:40:35:11
If, if I win, it’s Grayson’s. Oh,

00:40:35:26 –> 00:40:36:15
That’d be cool.

00:40:37:08 –> 00:40:47:09
That’d be fun. And I, I buy lottery tickets on every sheep hunt that comes out and so the next one I win is Grayson’s. So Yeah.

00:40:47:12 –> 00:41:00:22
Well, tell us, tell us a little bit about some of the other, not necessarily the full stories, but just some of the other sheep hunts that you’ve experienced over your life. It seems like you’ve killed quite a few sheep, you’ve shared some of those Well, I’ve, some of those photos with me, so,

00:41:01:09 –> 00:42:11:05
Well, I’ve got all four and the first one was in 2005. I won the once in a Lifetime Washington Sheep Hunt. And anyway, I had a friend that had done it earlier, you know, many years before. And he said, oh, if you do, he says, I have a guy that you wanna hire for a guide. So as soon as I won, I called my friend and he directed me to the, he was a deputy sheriff at the time for the county over there on the east side of the mountains. And so I called him up and he said, yes. He said, I can guide you, but he said, I have to get a temporary guide’s license. So anyway, he only charged me $1,500 and we went over a day early. And anyway, he had a wall tent set up in his backyard and he hired a, a neighbor, an old guy to do dutch oven cooking. And so we did a rustic camp out in the guy’s backyard in a well tent.

00:42:11:29 –> 00:42:12:18
There you go.

00:42:13:18 –> 00:43:16:16
And so we went out that evening and we found, I don’t know, 12 or 15 rams just from the highway. And so, oh, there was some nice ones. And, and anyway, I’d say, oh, there’s a good one. But they, you know, they weren’t broken off or anything and he said, the bases aren’t big enough. And so anyway, so we kept looking and finally we found a, a group of five and there was a, a real good one in it then a group of five. And so we mentally marked where they were at and we found a, a pair and number two was in, oh, oh, that first bunch had one and three in it, it was on a ranking and we found another pair and there was, we had him for number two. And so anyway, and it went on down to five. And so the next morning we went out and as we passed the spot where number two was, he was up there on the hillside with his buddy.

00:43:17:07 –> 00:44:13:12
And then the other one, we went down, down the canyon further and looked and the five had disappeared. And so he says, what do you wanna do? And I said, well, number two is fine. So we went back to number two and we get out of the truck down at the highway and, and he says, you gotta go by yourself. I said, why is that? He says, because he says, the more people, he said, you spook ’em. So I went up a site, a little canyon there, and then when I figured I was about the same height as them, I, I popped over the ridge and out there a couple hundred yards was my two sheep. But then I realized I didn’t know which one was the big one. Oh no. So I backed down the ridge a little bit and stood up and I swung my arm sideways, you know, along my side.

00:44:13:12 –> 00:45:08:19
And then I put it above my head, meaning is it the upper one or the lower one? And after two or three of those episodes, my son-in-law stepped out and waved his arm down beside his side. So I interpret that to be the lower one. So I, you know, so then I settled down and I shot the sheep and the noise reverberated through the canyon and the sheep turned and ran right to me and he’d go down a little draw and come up and every time he’d crest, I’d have a frontal shot. And so the last shot was at 90, 90 yards or something, but out of five shots, he had three in him. So he, he did not wanna pass out, but, and I was afraid to go look at him until my son-in-law and, and the guy got up there, but it was the right one.

00:45:09:02 –> 00:46:19:26
And the, they scored him and he’s 12 and a half years old. Oh, wow. California. He has big, it’s a California big horn and it’s, he’s got big bases. So anyway, he scored real well. And then my little thing laying dormant until 2015 and I was up in British Columbia hunt moose, just meat moose and with Jim Lancaster at Copper River. And anyway, one of the sheep guides from up north came down and was helping with the moose hunt. And at dinner one night I sat beside him and we got to talk and then he, he said, oh, he said, the average sheep hunt only last two days. So he said, you got 10 or 14 or 10, 14 days or something to hunt ’em. But he said, we usually done on the second day. And so I love odds and I don’t gamble, but I know good odds when I hear ’em.

00:46:19:26 –> 00:47:22:00
So I started making payments and in 2017 I went hunting up in the northwest territory and we flew in in the helicopter and landed, and the next morning was the opening day of sheep season. And we walked up a mountain, a big one, and then around the top and over to the next one, and late in the afternoon we found a sheep. So we had to back around the mountain and, and to pursue our sheep. And anyway, the, all of a sudden there’s another one in our way. So we had to abort our plan and get out of there. And so we made it back to camp at one o’clock in the morning and it was still light, so you didn’t even need a, a headlamp. And so the next morning we get up and the guides packing his pack. I already had mine packed, but I wouldn’t put it on until we were ready to go.

00:47:22:24 –> 00:48:57:24
And so anyway, I’m standing there watching him put all of his stuff in the, his backpack and a white sheep appears at same level. We are 200 yards out of there out of another canyon. So he gets, I told him and he put his, got his spot and scope back out and he looked at it and he said, well, that’s the same one that we were looking at last night. I said, well, if he is legal last night, he is still legal this morning. So he said, sure enough. And the reason we knew it was the same one is because the sheep had a scar, not a scar, an injury on his nose from fighting. And he had a black scab on his nose. And so how, how often would that happen to two different sheep in the same area? So anyway, so I shot the sheep right from camp and went over, we went over there and, and it was a, a brand new, a brand new lightweight savage, 30 off six and using a rock, I got lots of scratches in it from the recoil. So, so anyway, that’s my memory of the scratches. But anyway, went over there and processed our sheep and the satellites were lined up about three o’clock in the afternoon. So he radioed out and here come the helicopter. So, so we were done in a day and a and an hour. Wow,

00:48:57:27 –> 00:48:58:12
Awesome.

00:48:59:01 –> 00:49:06:15
And the first one took an hour and 15 minutes, so, so then I, oh, and it turned out to be a fan in sheep.

00:49:07:13 –> 00:49:07:20
Oh.

00:49:08:11 –> 00:49:13:22
So then I realized that I just saved a whole bunch of money from not having to go pursue a

00:49:14:08 –> 00:49:15:15
Stone. There you go.

00:49:16:21 –> 00:50:32:09
That’s great. Then I started making payments on another one, and in 2019 I went back and we went to the same general area and there was lots of sheep, but they were all lambs and ewes and young, young bullies or rams. Anyways, we couldn’t find a decent ram and it was like 50 50 sheep in there or more. And we had a couple come right by us on the trail. We were, I dunno, within 10 yards of them. And so anyway, some good memories. So after two and a half days or so, we had the helicopter come get us and move us over to another spot. And anyway, we spent a couple days over there on the fifth day I, we finally shot a a, it’s not a large sheep, but it’s, it’s legal. And so anyway, but there was no way we had crossed over the mountains and slid down some rock shoots and there was no way you were gonna go back to camp without the helicopter. So we were gonna have to call the helicopter so that I shot the sheep. So then we had to call the helicopter anyway. Oh,

00:50:33:26 –> 00:51:23:10
Gotcha. So anyway, and we had taken a string and checked the horns to make sure we were legal. And Jim brought a straight edge when the helicopter came in because he wanted to make certain Yeah. And he, he was not happy that we shot the sheep because he said there was bigger ones, but it was legal, so the heat was off. But anyway, so then the rest is history and, and until, well, I I, in the meantime I had cancer, I built a new house and, and whatnot. And then I told my wife if there was any money left over after the house was built, I was gonna go sheep hunting. So that’s how, and I ran, ran into, pardon?

00:51:23:18 –> 00:51:25:19
That’s how you went to Mexico, basically? Yeah,

00:51:25:23 –> 00:52:42:03
Right. Well, I, I ran into Kim Needers from Wild Sheep up at the G-O-A-B-C there in Canada. ’cause I’m a life member up there also. And I sat beside her and we were talking and she said, well, you need to finish. I said, well, I agree, but you know, money’s kind of an object. So anyway, she gave me a name and so I had been burnt once before on a sheep hunt. So I was checking it out and that’s when I called Jason. And, and then he gave me Roberto’s name and, and, and then I called Kim back and she even checked out Roberto through the wildlife biologist for the area and gave me the thumbs up. So the hunt was on. And well then I had to do my payments and stuff for Roberto and, and, but I just can’t say enough good stuff about Roberto’s facilities and his, you know, visiting with him and, and learning about the, the cactus and, and all that good stuff.

00:52:42:07 –> 00:53:26:18
And, and, and it was just fantastic. Pretty awesome. Anyway, he had a high rack, so he took us for a ride one afternoon and you know, he comes, picks you up at three o’clock in the afternoon and it’s 80 degrees or 78 or something. And so I climbed up in the high rack and didn’t take a coat, but as soon as the sun starts going down, I was freezing. And so we had checked out lots of these feeders and waters and stuff. And, and anyway, finally, I, I asked to get down in the cab because I was freezing to death and Grayson stayed up in the top and the very next waterer that we came to, here’s a big deer.

00:53:27:17 –> 00:53:27:25
Geez.

00:53:28:20 –> 00:53:34:10
And I didn’t get to see it, so, but Grayson said it was one of those 30 inches, you know.

00:53:34:13 –> 00:53:34:22
Geez.

00:53:35:07 –> 00:53:38:15
Yeah. And, and you, you within 50, 60 yards of it

00:53:39:01 –> 00:53:43:29
Sounds like you, you got to experience all a Sonora and Yeah. Even more.

00:53:44:20 –> 00:53:51:13
Well Bob, I I imagine you’ve got some tractor work today. I think I’ve talked to you yesterday when you were on the tractor getting off.

00:53:52:03 –> 00:54:05:13
Well, I, I, I was up at the house when I finally looked at my phone and, and I’m, I’m getting ready to break ground for another building, so, geez. I like, I like buildings, so.

00:54:06:19 –> 00:54:08:19
Wow. That’s awesome. Well,

00:54:08:19 –> 00:54:21:09
I, I don’t, I I don’t do a lot. It’s at, at 86. It’s, but I, I hire the right people and, and they do my magic for me and then I do what I can.

00:54:21:27 –> 00:54:26:25
What’s the secret to staying young and hunting through, through your eighties?

00:54:29:00 –> 00:54:46:26
First of all, the good Lord took care of me and, and keeps me healthy and, and it’s just getting up every morning and, and my wife says I get the wrong kind of of exercise, but my doctor says, whatever you’re doing, just keep doing it.

00:54:48:09 –> 00:54:50:15
What, what kind of that, what does, what’s, she’s not a fan of.

00:54:50:27 –> 00:54:53:06
Yeah. What does she think you don’t do? Right. And what are you doing?

00:54:53:24 –> 00:55:19:02
Well, I, I should go for long walks and, you know, and sweat a little and whatnot, but I walk, I walk, when I was going getting ready to go down to Mexico, I was doing like 10,000 steps a day. And I’ve had, I, I just finished making hay last week or so, and one day I had 22,000 steps. So

00:55:19:11 –> 00:55:20:09
Yeah. Geez,

00:55:20:10 –> 00:55:22:00
Nothing wrong with good old farm work.

00:55:22:00 –> 00:55:24:14
What’s, what’s she got against getting your steps in?

00:55:25:06 –> 00:55:25:22
Sounds like?

00:55:26:01 –> 00:55:28:08
Well, because I don’t do it all at one time.

00:55:29:24 –> 00:55:32:15
She wants you to jog 10,000. No, no.

00:55:33:09 –> 00:55:58:17
I, I can’t, when I first retired 30 some years ago, she does, she does two miles almost every morning. And I tried to walk with her and the next thing you know, she’s 50 yards ahead of me. So then I would jog to catch up and then I’d be with her for a few steps and then she’d pull away again and I just can’t walk as fast as she does. Yeah.

00:55:58:20 –> 00:56:03:14
I, I’d go back anyway. I’d go back to the tractor in the hay field as well myself. Yep.

00:56:03:21 –> 00:56:16:08
Right. And after two weeks, my hips were sore, my knees were sore. Yeah. Everything was sore. So I just quit do my own little thing. And so I just, you know,

00:56:16:12 –> 00:56:22:23
It’s working. It’s worked so far. You’re hunting, right? Hunting sheep in your eighties. That’s, that’s pretty awesome to do. Awesome. It all. That

00:56:22:23 –> 00:56:23:21
Is awesome.

00:56:23:24 –> 00:56:33:04
Right? I, I set a record with Roberto because his previous oldest Hunter was 84 and I was 85 and almost 86 when

00:56:33:05 –> 00:56:34:01
Yeah. When you killed,

00:56:35:01 –> 00:56:38:27
When I got my sheep. So he said, I’m the new record holder now. Ah,

00:56:38:27 –> 00:56:47:13
That’s a good record. All right, Bob, well, we’ll let you go. We sure appreciate you coming on the podcast with us and visiting with us about your hunt.

00:56:48:17 –> 00:58:04:16
I, I’m glad to do it. And whoever wins the sheep hunt this year is going to have a grand time. And you guys are that, go with him, are gonna have a great time. And so they, they have a great operation and, and she, Roberto, he was gonna take me in October and he said, well, the sheep are up on top of the mountain. And when he found out how old I was, he said, well, we’ll just let ’em come down in February. And they, they’re still up on the side of the mountain or hill or whatever we wanna call it, but they’re very accessible and you know, they, you might have to walk quite a ways across the desert, but they’re still accessible and it makes it for terrific hunting. And, and I wasn’t gonna get excited until the fifth day. At the end of the fifth day. And this was only the third day. So Yeah. The pressure wasn’t on yet. Yeah. But, well, that’s, no, it, it’s wonderful. You chose a a, a very good, good hunt to give away. And, and whoever wins it won’t have a problem.

00:58:05:13 –> 00:58:09:01
That’s, we like to hear. Sounds good. Sounds good. All right, Bob.

00:58:10:07 –> 00:58:10:16
Okay.

00:58:10:20 –> 00:58:13:12
Have a, have a great rest of your week. Okay.

00:58:14:22 –> 00:58:16:22
Every day when I wake up, it’s a blessing.

00:58:17:07 –> 00:58:20:27
That’s right. Well thanks for taking time with us today, Bob. We appreciate it.

00:58:21:16 –> 00:58:23:17
You betcha. Take care and thank you. Thank

00:58:23:17 –> 00:58:24:11
You. Talk to you later.

00:58:25:07 –> 00:58:25:21
Alright.

00:58:25:26 –> 00:59:08:05
Bye. There. You’re guys. Something a little, hopefully I’m my age. He’s gonna be buying green bananas for a while. He’s healthy. Haul, haul hay every day. That’s what, that’s what I learned. I don’t know. Bale hay. Maybe you could just haul hay. Mow the grass on the golf course. I don’t even have grass. You need to start doing that. Yeah, I, that’s, here’s Adam out there. Just another day. Another day. Another garage. I’ll get my 5,000 steps in in the morning and golfing and just, I’ll just golf. Go around the lawnmower. We’ll call you Adam Boucher something. Some point I’ll do nine in the morning, night at night and get 10,000 in. How about that? Well, Wyatt, what do we got? We had Arizona hit cards. Yeah.

00:59:08:05 –> 00:59:12:27
Arizona card hits. Wyoming’s gonna post tomorrow. Yeah, I guess the 19th. I don’t know when this

00:59:12:27 –> 00:59:22:23
Will be out, but I can’t believe, believe everybody we’re excited. I can’t believe everybody here drew Deer tax in Arizona. It’s unheard of. I can’t believe it’s unbelievable. They wanted our money. Well, I mean October co deer all geez.

00:59:24:02 –> 00:59:26:06
May be some point guarding going on. I don’t know.

00:59:27:16 –> 00:59:40:25
That’s cool. Anyway. Yeah, pretty. We’re been sarcastic by way. Pretty good. If you, if you’ve got a credit card hit for Arizona, give us a holler. We just, we just want to talk to you. It’s been, it’s been quiet. Yeah. You know,

00:59:41:06 –> 00:59:41:22
How’s been,

00:59:42:10 –> 01:00:09:28
But, but a lot of guys aren’t checking their cards either. So results haven’t actually hit the portals yet. We’ll be looking everybody up. Litter affiliated with license app here on what? Yep. Figuring out who got tags and then notify him with sheep and deer course. Bronson and his Turkey points. I had to do that too. They sucked man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then we’ve got Wyoming deer and antelope coming out. We’re excited about that. So, and that’ll kind of round us out, plus or minus for the bulk of the draws.

01:00:10:25 –> 01:00:15:27
Yeah. After that. Just a few point only deadlines for the remainder. Few odds and ends in the

01:00:15:27 –> 01:00:21:13
Summer. Yeah. Then we got July. Wyatt, you got a full July. We talked about that earlier. Family vacation.

01:00:21:17 –> 01:00:22:11
July is not

01:00:22:11 –> 01:00:27:27
Yours that you’re a part of, but not, let’s call it by choice, but, but it wasn’t your choosing. Right.

01:00:30:03 –> 01:00:32:09
Wyatt? I got no comments on

01:00:32:09 –> 01:00:34:16
That. Just tease it. I love to tease

01:00:34:16 –> 01:00:36:01
Wyatt. We all have those tricks.

01:00:36:01 –> 01:00:48:01
Well we have all of our families listed. We all so have. Yeah, it’s kind of fun. But, but anyway. You got that going on. Of course you guys got other hunts coming up? We got hunts hitting here in August. Archery deer hits. Maybe

01:00:48:13 –> 01:00:51:21
That’s of July stuff this year if I’m not mistaken. But we’ll find out.

01:00:52:10 –> 01:00:56:19
So, okay. I don’t, I don’t really have anything else. Do you guys got anything?

01:00:57:00 –> 01:01:10:12
No, I think that’s a good one. Good one to end on. Get your tickets in before 1159 on the 23rd of June. That’s the deadline. You can call us. You can do it online. We are gonna be here next, next Monday. Right? Isn’t that the last day?

01:01:10:15 –> 01:01:11:19
That’s the last day. So

01:01:11:19 –> 01:01:16:03
We will be here the last day. If it’s the last day, don’t be throwing something in the mail. You better give us a call. But

01:01:16:18 –> 01:01:42:07
Yeah, go to epic outdoors.com over the weekend and, and get your tickets in. Of course. Call is (435) 263-0777. Got the new trail camera contest going on. Kind of exciting. That’ll be fun. I always like doing that. So quite a bit of interaction there. And guess we’ll go. We’ll go from there. Devin, Dee, you got anything from the gun store? We got some CVAs coming.

01:01:42:24 –> 01:01:43:25
Yeah, we got a lot of guns.

01:01:44:05 –> 01:01:44:12
Muzz loader.

01:01:44:25 –> 01:02:00:05
You can see ’em all. We got Logan just updated it. Every gun we have is on our website, including the two packages. And then yeah, we will have new colors of CVAs. They got a new Optima that’ll be coming in here within a week or two. So Nice. You can see ’em all on the website. There’s pictures and details. So

01:02:00:05 –> 01:02:12:29
They’re selling like crazy. You need a muzzle order? Give us a holler. Very affordable. Awesome. Muzzle orders that that we’ve got. Of course we’ve got a lot of different accessories as well. Cash. You got any word of wisdom before we shut down?

01:02:13:28 –> 01:02:15:03
Get your boots on the ground.

01:02:15:28 –> 01:02:17:15
Boots on the ground. Animals

01:02:17:15 –> 01:02:17:28
Are growing.

01:02:18:14 –> 01:02:22:22
Okay. Okay. I like it. I’m gonna do it. You got some cameras out?

01:02:23:23 –> 01:02:30:25
Yeah, I’ve got a few peeking of boots on the ground. Devin. Devin roped me into something where I gotta put some serious boots on the ground. What

01:02:31:00 –> 01:02:31:09
I got,

01:02:31:18 –> 01:02:36:01
Oh my goodness. You excited for tonight? Have you ever paid someone to just absolutely torture yourself?

01:02:36:18 –> 01:02:42:01
Because that’s what I did. Did you? You have to join. I joined kinda like a tough mud. You’re

01:02:42:07 –> 01:02:45:01
One of these race. I joined Devon’s team. I joined. Devon’s

01:02:45:01 –> 01:02:50:13
Team did. Oh, you know what’s funny is when Devon said, I’ve never invited anybody to be on our team before.

01:02:50:23 –> 01:02:58:21
Well yesterday told me you got a crap or get off the pot. Okay, I guess we’re signing up. How many people were on my team when you signed up? You Yeah,

01:03:00:05 –> 01:03:06:04
Yesterday. He goes cash. I don’t take it lightly. Like I’ve never invited anybody to be on Devon’s team before. Well

01:03:06:10 –> 01:03:18:01
Ai, he needed a little motivation. We gotta do stuff. So you’re now, you’re training. We’re going a couple nights a week. I mean I ran three miles last night and I don’t normally run. And we’re going eight miles tonight. So eight.

01:03:18:04 –> 01:03:19:04
You are, oh my gosh.

01:03:19:08 –> 01:03:19:28
Eight. Good

01:03:19:28 –> 01:03:21:19
Thing you’re young man together. You are together.

01:03:22:07 –> 01:03:23:03
Hand in hand you

01:03:23:03 –> 01:03:25:21
Guys. We got like a water stop. I’ll be the

01:03:25:21 –> 01:03:28:29
Water stop. We’re gonna be outta here about 5 0 1. Yeah. Just so you know. Okay,

01:03:29:06 –> 01:03:30:23
Well I’m gonna beat you. You got Wyatt

01:03:30:24 –> 01:03:41:17
Handing out. You got Wyatt handed out banana and orange wedges out there in mile four tonight. It’s ketchup pack or mustard? Mustard. Mustard. You better go to Maverick on the way we might ask him.

01:03:42:15 –> 01:03:44:12
So this is awesome. Logan, where

01:03:44:12 –> 01:03:47:07
Have you been? Well, and I gotta, I’m not Logan went down. The thing is,

01:03:47:21 –> 01:03:48:28
Was he even invited to be on

01:03:49:07 –> 01:03:56:29
Cash is a man. This is not, you don’t just like, he’s legit. You don’t just, you don’t just, he do a beast. He’s doing

01:03:57:01 –> 01:04:01:19
The hardest. Logan don’t feel bad. The rest of us aren’t men either. Go ahead.

01:04:01:26 –> 01:04:20:11
Yeah, I wouldn’t have done it if somebody told me to do that. I wouldn’t have done it. Do they with a month? It’s the, it’s the second hardest one in the whole country. Is it? What we’re doing, what cash is doing is first time. Really? Yeah. Not knowing. No kidding. I don’t think you really understood that. But this, this is, you’re committed this. It was cash. It’ll be fun. You’re young, you’ll be

01:04:20:11 –> 01:04:24:15
Fine. There’s women that do it. Wasn’t there a girl in front of you, Devon? Last time? That

01:04:24:15 –> 01:04:35:15
Was years ago. There’s there’s women out there that are far jacked, more jacked than me. Oh, you’re gonna feel intimidated. Oh I’ll, I already feel intimidated. It’ll be fun. We got 24 days. Yeah.

01:04:36:00 –> 01:04:37:27
Wyatt, have you ever been invited to be on Devon’s team?

01:04:37:27 –> 01:04:46:09
Nope. Never. You’re such a liar. He’s a liar. Devon said yesterday, he’s never invited anybody to be said in his team. Now he was telling me a liar. You

01:04:46:14 –> 01:04:46:27
Heard it.

01:04:47:06 –> 01:05:01:21
You got invited yesterday. What do you mean? And the day before that, Devin, are you, are you looking for two more team? Isn’t there a four man team and you got two now. Are you looking for two more? We gotta have as many people on the team as we want, but it’s every man for himself. What does that mean? You throw a ham on your side, you die, you go down. There’s not, there’s not.

01:05:03:00 –> 01:05:06:12
I watch Devin when he is like, if you, if you go down, you’re out. So there

01:05:06:12 –> 01:05:08:27
Isn’t no, if I go down, you keep going. There is an eye

01:05:08:27 –> 01:05:12:09
Finish. But you guys are gonna go together. Yeah. Until one of you go down until

01:05:12:10 –> 01:05:25:09
Die. Until I cross the finish line together. I thought you did relays phases. No. No. It’s not like is there once that you’ve done like that before? No. It’s all, what’s the team part about it? You just go together race, you just go together. You have, you have moral support.

01:05:25:09 –> 01:05:26:16
Embrace the suck that,

01:05:26:17 –> 01:05:36:24
Yeah, I’m glad don’t have to go by myself. I thought well double tracked it last year and it was like just over 14 miles and you’re gaining like 4,000 feet of elevation with obstacles along

01:05:36:24 –> 01:05:37:29
The whole thing. Wow. This is awesome.

01:05:38:06 –> 01:05:38:29
It’s a big one. Yeah.

01:05:39:00 –> 01:05:39:17
What’s it called?

01:05:40:00 –> 01:05:41:07
A it beast. Spartan Beast.

01:05:41:20 –> 01:05:44:01
Is it? No, it’s beast. It’s beast. Yeah. It’ll

01:05:44:01 –> 01:05:54:04
Be fun. And below that is a sprint and a super super below that that I’ve never done. What do you mean below? They’re lesser. It’s a 10 K and a 5K. Yeah. And we’re doing a 21 K.

01:05:54:21 –> 01:05:57:27
Okay. That’s where the lesser men go, right? Geez. The boys

01:05:58:08 –> 01:06:11:15
Cash went straight to the top. Yeah, I went straight to the grave where I went. I Devin’s doing all of them. Right. It’s kind interesting that Devin invites you on the team. But it’s all it, it’s a so bad. I made the team an hour before. There is I team, there is an

01:06:11:16 –> 01:06:11:29
I team

01:06:12:09 –> 01:06:22:06
Each man for themselves. That’s, it was no team until cash joined. I thought this was a relay system. You know, we did the, we did the rope ball, we did the, you know, Barb barbed wire crawl underneath. Yeah.

01:06:22:08 –> 01:06:23:00
What’s your team

01:06:23:00 –> 01:06:25:03
Name? Like the Iron County Prairie dog. Don’t join our

01:06:25:03 –> 01:06:25:18
Team. D the

01:06:25:22 –> 01:06:30:29
DC team. D Gunsmithing team. It’s the D it’s the DC something.

01:06:32:08 –> 01:06:33:04
The is dc.

01:06:33:05 –> 01:06:37:24
Maybe one year we do an epic team. No, get wide out there. You’ll have to be, anybody can

01:06:37:24 –> 01:06:39:18
Join. I’m gonna be scouting for somebody’s buck.

01:06:39:24 –> 01:06:52:11
I’ll be, that’s the, I’ll be the guy. You know like in the NBA players or NFL have, they call it time out. They run out and the people squeeze Gatorade in the French. I’ll be queing the mustard right in your face. That’ll be me. Oh, miss, sorry. Close your eyes.

01:06:55:14 –> 01:06:56:16
Swallow. I could

01:06:56:16 –> 01:06:58:12
Do that. Hey, I

01:06:58:12 –> 01:07:03:05
Pulling John, why are you doing this is something you would do. You know, I don’t run.

01:07:03:05 –> 01:07:04:16
John’s smart. Yeah, you don’t have to run.

01:07:04:24 –> 01:07:21:06
I was, I was so slow in high school. I had to play on the line even though I was small, so, so I became the snapper. ’cause people couldn’t snap and so I was tiny. Okay. Okay. Well, well and slow. Slow. Tell us everything.

01:07:21:16 –> 01:07:27:29
I think you guys are doing this right? Doing it in your what? Twenties and thirties? Cash. You’re 38. I can’t remember. I’m 27 too.

01:07:27:29 –> 01:07:36:09
Well, you, I could done without practicing too. Remember Bronson? You’d be like two days before a big, put the lining and you’d be like, ah, I need two days to get my legs

01:07:36:09 –> 01:07:38:07
Hard. Now I’m, I know. I pulled,

01:07:38:18 –> 01:07:48:11
Remember my band was like two days to get your legs hard. What are you doing? That’s what it was. That’s what it took. Yeah. That’s what it took. Now this takes a little longer than that. Three or four, those days are gone. Three or four.

01:07:49:27 –> 01:07:54:00
I’m not gonna risk blowing a ACL or Achilles or something. Just on some,

01:07:54:18 –> 01:07:54:27
You know,

01:07:55:01 –> 01:07:56:29
Fun run. Yeah, fun run. Yeah.

01:07:57:20 –> 01:08:00:23
Team run. Wait, now what are you doing? The other ones, the five and the 10 and some of the,

01:08:00:23 –> 01:08:01:23
He’s doing on the next day.

01:08:02:09 –> 01:08:05:28
The next day he’s a psychopath. So the major one is the first day

01:08:05:28 –> 01:08:15:04
You do the Beast on Saturday. Devin, aren’t you having surgery here? About the same week too? I had to move that long story. Is that in August or September or Winter now when it’s

01:08:15:05 –> 01:08:16:10
In August, it’ll be after

01:08:17:26 –> 01:08:20:10
